Henry said My eyes widened "You'll not be going to tell the others right?" I asked "I won't but we should as it's going towards a dangerous point," Henry said I got curious as to what he was saying. "How so?" I interrogated I could see his expression drop as he tried to make out words. I gave him time and he finally spoke "He is trying to bail James out"

The moment he noticed me, his shoulders straightened. “You’re late.” “I’m on time.” “You’re awake,” Lyra corrected beside me. “That’s apparently enough for today.” Henry sighed deeply. “I still dislike this plan.” “You’ve mentioned that.” “Repeatedly.” “And yet somehow you still keep ignoring me.” “That’s because you keep repeating yourself.” Henry looked deeply unimpressed. “Your confidence in dangerous situations concerns me.” “My confidence?” “Yes.” Lyra nodded beside him. “She gets that from surviving entirely on stubbornness.”

Larissa dodged him impatiently and said coldly, "I have yet to settle the score with you about you getting Ross abducted, and you have the guts to come and see me?" Henry looked ghastly. He lowered his voice as if he was afraid of being heard. "Larissa, you've got to be careful of that child. He's dangerous!" Larissa looked at him as if he were an idiot, and laughed coldly. "Is there something wrong with your brain? I practice medicine but I wouldn't be able to save someone like you." Henry gritted his teeth. "I risked my life to come and tell you that that child is a dangerous entity!

Richard’s silhouette moved past the window once and then disappeared again. “I still can’t tell you everything,” I admitted. “Not yet. Not because I don’t trust you. Because some of it isn’t safe to put into the air while Henry is still… the way he is.” Henrietta was quiet for a few seconds. When she spoke again, her voice was smaller. “Is he dangerous? Not just intense. Actually dangerous.” I wanted to give her a clean answer. The clean answer would have been yes. Instead I chose the most honest version I could offer without opening the larger door.

“You don’t get to play the victim, Uncle Henry. You left me. Just like he did.” Henry looked down, his shoulders slumping. “I know. And I’ll never forgive myself for that.” I placed a hand on Mandy’s knee, grounding her. “What about now?” I asked. “What can you tell us about Horizon Enterprises now? Are they still involved in the same activities?” Henry nodded slowly. “They’ve changed their face, but their core is the same. They’re still dangerous, still willing to do whatever it takes to protect their interests. If they’ve come after you, it’s because they see you as a threat.”

“How comforting.” His expression didn't change. “It isn't supposed to be.” The honesty of that landed harder than reassurance would've. I looked back toward the windows again as rain blurred the city into gray streaks beyond the glass. “What are the actual dangers?” I asked quietly. This time Dante took slightly longer to answer. “Victor is dangerous when cornered,” he said. “Adrian is dangerous when underestimated.” “And Hannah?” At that, something colder entered his expression. “Hannah is desperate.”

The scent of her shampoo mixed with smoke and rain, grounding him even in chaos. Cole glanced at them both, grim. “They’re not stopping, Dante. Whoever’s after her…they want blood.” Dante’s grip tightened around Amara as he turned to Cole, voice low and deadly. “Then they’ll drown in theirs.” Amara looked between them—the man who claimed to protect her, and the one who claimed to save her. And for the first time, she didn’t know which of them was more dangerous. Her voice broke softly against the silence. “That was the night I realized Dante wasn’t my danger… he was my war.”

She handed him a pen as if presenting him with an unwanted prize. Jack’s hand shook as he took the pen. For a moment he looked at the paper and at Scarlett, and he saw the yard, the dead boy, the loss of face. Pride is a dangerous thing; pride and fear are combustible together. The ledger was legacy; a signature could be the difference between being the lion and being the man fed to lions.
