Oscar's face was red with anger, his eyes blazing with defiance. "I'm not putting anyone in danger, Eleanor," he spat. "I'm just trying to do my job as a parent. And if that makes you think I'm working with Henry, then so be it."
I felt a surge of anger and betrayal at his words. How could he be so blind to the danger that Henry posed?
"You're not even listening to me, are you?" I said, my voice cold and detached. "You're just going to keep on doing what you want, no matter who gets hurt in the process."
