Steven's steps slowed as he answered someone on his wire. The man in the car kept a taunting dark stare awaiting the worst that could happen. Logically thinking, him getting out alive would be a miracle but... It's kinda his thing to miraculously resurface. “Can you hold it for me?” Steve finally halted fully, “I’m on my way…Thank you” He turned and walked back the way he came.

“You remember the plans right?” I didn’t know why but ever since I told Steven about going to the RedClaw pack, he has been unusually quiet and stiff. He asked for some privacy that he needed to sort something out but I didn’t pry into his private matters. Since then, he became completely lost, his mind zooming out even when I discussed the plan of action. Steven nodded. “I remember everything. In and out, before they notice.” I nodded in approval. I was about to open the car door but a strong arm stopped it.

I'm almost done wrapping those things up and then we can go to the Planetarium as many times as you want, okay?” “Really truly?” Rick asked, a huge smile forming on his face.

"And he doesn't exercise anymore." "I do exercise," He refuted. "I went for a run this morning." "Whatever. Sorry about that," I apologized. "You caught me off guard." "I've been calling you for over three minutes. What's on your mind? It's unlike you to get lost in thought. Thank goodness that a car wasn't coming," He said, falling into step with me as I resumed walking. "Everything," I replied vaguely. "Are you going somewhere?" "I was coming to see you. I heard that a stranger was robbed and left for dead by some unknown thugs. I also heard that you and your father rescued him," Steven said. "Is he okay?"

SO hearing this sends a shiver throughout me. "What does that mean exactly?" I ask nervously. No wonder Thought seemed so skeptical about him the moment I introduced the two. "Maybe it's because he's just come off the train, and he's still just coming out of Death's realm." I'm hoping for anything at this point, to have a sense of normality in my life. I don't want my only possible friend here to have something strange about him. Something I would have never noticed without Thought...

With a smile on his face and looking as handsome as ever, Steven spread his arms as soon as he entered. He exclaimed, “Oh, Young Patriarch Clarke, Lord Apollo, it's good to see you again.” Philip embraced Steven slightly, but Fennel declined. Steven was not concerned and merely smiled. Philip asked, “Steven, how did you find this place?” Steven raised his eyebrows and said, “I’m here to send you some intelligence, of course.” Intelligence?

I muttered. “I’m serious,” she smiled. “Oh, that reminds me. I should call Steven. He should know you’re here.” As she stood to leave, I quickly reached for her hand. “Steven is... is he here?” She shook her head. “No, I was going to call him.” “Please... don’t. Not yet,” I whispered. She lowered herself beside me again, eyes narrowing in curiosity. “You know this isn’t a coincidence, right?” she murmured. “The universe wanted you here today.”
