Drawing it out from where she hid it, Sylvia dusted the covers of the book. Anytime she picked it up to read, she realized that it was always so dusty. She didn't know why but one thing she knew was that this book was not your normal book. There were so many mysteries within it that a human mind wouldn't be able to grasp it at all.

Apparently the best books are always hidden at the bottom. One in particular took my attention. The cover was a soft purple, but that wasn't what made me instantly interested in it. It was the fact that my name was printed on the spine, in italic font. There was no author name, or any illustrations, as I curiously pull the book from its slot. I stare at the book for a few moments, wondering if I should actually open it. There is no way this would be about me. When I turned the first page, I was wrong. Right there, was an intricate drawing of me-just my face. Under the picture, there was a question mark, as if whoever had drawn this, didn't know it was me.

Hundreds and hundred of books lined the shelves and he led me to seat by the window on a window seat. He stood in front of me, hiding something behind him. "What that?" I asked, curiousity getting the better of me. He revealed it to me, his entire body trembling in excitement, "it's our memories in hard copy!" He grinned, showing me the album book he had pulled out from one of the shelves. I took the book excitedly, opening it. Almost immediately, a naked picture of fetus Shawn jumped at me. No, you don't understand. Like, an actual fetus picture of Shawn in the womb.

Just as she was about to delve into the pages, something caught her eye— a medium-sized box tucked away among the books. It was unassuming, blending with the surroundings, yet something about it tugged at her instincts. The box was weathered, hinting at its age. It was hidden and nestled among the books like a secret treasure waiting to be uncovered. It exuded an aura of secrecy, and her heart raced with anticipation and trepidation. With gentle hands, she lifted the lid and peered inside. A gasp escaped her lips as she beheld a collection of photographs. It was pictures of a young boy and girl who looked so happily in love as if nothing else mattered.

Why in the world did he have all of these for? My fingers danced along the spines of the book in curiosity. I pulled out each book slightly, hoping like my library one of them would reveal some secret compartment. I stopped as one book caught my attention. It didn’t feel solid like the other books. It was too light. “Penn, I think I’ve got something.” I pulled it out. It was a black book with no title. I opened it to discover it was a hollow book. A velvet box, slightly smaller than the book, was hidden inside of it. I opened the box and smiled.

Julian stepped inside. The room was lined wall to wall with walnut bookshelves, rows upon rows of leather-bound volumes, identical in size and finish, arranged with almost obsessive precision from top to bottom, left to right. He had a study at home with a similar look—but not because he cared about first editions or loved reading. It was camouflage. Behind those shelves was a hidden space, a place he used to stay out of his stepmother Serena’s line of sight. Not that it mattered anymore. She was already under investigation for money laundering and leaking company secrets. Prison was only a matter of time. She hadn’t been a threat to him for a long while.

Julie thought that if there ever was a book that contained the details of Alex's secrets and of his past, the book should be looking like… her eyes just wandered around for minutes as if she were looking for something. Levi and Kenji let out loud spurts of laughter behind me as they watch my discomfort over the book.

It was hidden among the books as if the Princess didn’t want anyone to have access to it. “Here it is!” she screamed with a mild smile and I was forced to also smile with her because she was so cute with her messy hair and oily face. We both opened the book and flipped through the pages. We were almost giving up when we landed on the page that showcased drawings. “What are these? Are they part of the books?” I asked looking closely but she couldn’t provide any answer since I also didn’t know. We stared for few minutes but nothing was coming to my mind. She was about giving up when I suddenly grabbed the book.
