They were gorgeous but could breathe fire and had extremely sharp fangs and claws that could kill a man on the spot. Azalia would never dare approach one of those too close.

My voice echoed around the room and I heard the dragon’s low chuckle. He emerged from the shadows and suddenly we were outside, in the open with the dark night sky above us. His eyes had a murderous glint in them and I watched his spiked tail. The dragon was gray, like mine and I almost felt sorry for the illusion. I ran straight toward him and he moved his body sideways as his tail swept across the ground and lifted at the last second to strike me full in the chest. I was on his tail and ran up towards his back as his tail swished around and he turned his head to get a look at me.

It slammed into the Void-Beast just as the monstrosity tried to haul its bloated torso fully into our world. The impact was like a mountain collapsing. The dragon's talons sank into the beast's translucent flesh, and a blast of dragonfire—pure, white-hot heat erupted from its maw, illuminating the glade in a blinding flash.

I point at her and nod my head enthusiastically in her direction. “Silence. You have no right to mock me. I am a dragon and I won’t stand by and watch as you think you can come into my realm and worm your way into the hearts of our people.” Gasps sound out and some dragons snarl at her when I smirk at this delusional bitch.
