High Lords Meeting #acotar Novels & Stories

“It's Friday, isn't it?” I nodded slowly, confused. “Beelzebub's scheduled another summit with the Arch Council. Rot and Sin! Just when I was relaxing...” “A summit of demon lords? That better not meet anywhere near Redmont.” He gave me a withering glance. “What are you guys gonna do- go golfing and plot to take over the world?” “Possibly. Beelzebub's got the blandest taste of excitement since Metatron snored himself into existence. Do you want to be my caddie?”

“We are here because—” The heavy sound of boots crushing on the ceramic floor cut into Mr. Crestwood’s speech. Every head in the hall, including mine, turned towards the entrance. Damon. He walked in with slow but heavy steps, the sound of his boots getting louder as he approached us. Seeing Damon here only confirmed I was right about my earlier intuition. This meeting is about the selection of the next high king. “Most noble elders,” Damon began, while still approaching us. “You'd forgive me for being late just this time, right?” his gaze flickers across every elder in the room as he settled in a seat beside me.

The elders sat around the long, imposing table, their faces stern, and their gazes filled with dissatisfaction and skepticism. The room was dimly lit, with only a few candles flickering on the walls, casting long shadows across the elders' faces. Each elder's posture was rigid, their eyes boring into me as I took my seat at the head of the table. The air was thick with unspoken tension, and I could sense that whatever the issue was, it was something very serious. The eldest among them, Councilor Gregor, cleared his throat and stood up. "Prince Alaric," he began, "we have convened this meeting to discuss a matter of grave importance. It concerns your choice of the Luna Queen."

This should get interesting. “Good afternoon, everyone,” I begin. “Thanks again for attending my sons’ ascension ceremony last night. Our new alpha and beta are a little busy upstairs right now...” That earns me a wave of chuckles and knowing smirks. “So Arya and I will preside over the meeting today. We’ve got a lot to cover—chiefly, the Riding Hoods and the situation with our goddesses. Let’s start with Kanati.” All eyes shift to Kanati and Kamama.

Leto snarled. Just then, there was a knock on the door. "Who is it?" Leto questioned curtly. "Mr. Mabry, the Supreme Magus is summoning you to the conference hall for a meeting." "Am I the only one he summoned?" "No, Mr. Mabry. He has also summoned the High Priestess and the six other elders." Leto quirked a brow. What could've made Hadrian Jarrow, the Supreme Magus of the Hexen Coven, summon all seven of the coven elders as well as Narcissa Sable, the High Priestess, for a meeting?

Finally, the elders and lords gave each other looks, signifying the end of the meeting was near. “We did not come here to hear bickering, we are here to tell you that you need to toughen up and bring back your luna to the pack. We have people that could very easily take your seats and give the pack an heir before the end of the year.” Uncle Jacob, the oldest living member of the council said. He was my father’s cousin.

My cousins hurry over when they see me coming, and most of them are really happy to see me, especially my younger siblings. “It’s really good to see you Cas, but you are late.” Aunt Allie says, her eyes narrow. I rub my neck, blushing a little. “I know auntie, I’m so sorry. I had to handle some things in the Coven, and then Councilwoman Miriam informed me that the High Council expects Athena and I to reject each other at the next meeting where she is attending.” Gasps sound all around me, but aunt Allie quickly shut it down, thanking me for the information and then directing the attention back to Athena’s evening.

"Um. I understand... I'm not alone here either, the children will always accompany Dira and Atthy. Besides, Adrik won't stay silent either…'' Hans replied calmly while continuing to prepare the dish. ''Okay. We have all agreed, we will immediately make preparations,'' said Halvir decided. ''I will prepare it. You just set a strategy so that everything can run smoothly and can be finished soon,'' Gavriel immediately spoke up and volunteered. ''Yes. In three months there will be a deliberation with the Elders and Leaders, not only from Blue Forest Village but also from the Lion Kingdom and also the Wolf Clan from the western region,'' said Halvir, again explaining his conversation with Mischa

"They walked into this mountain believing they could negotiate with a ledger. They are leaving it worshipping the throne." "The south is secure, Dmitry," Natalia whispered, her fingers locking tightly into his as her gold eyes flashed with absolute, terrifying clarity. "But our spies in the outer islands just reported a massive movement. The high purist factions of the Northern Houses have just called an emergency summit, and they are meeting in secret tonight."

He took the scroll, breaking the wax seal with his thumb. I watched his face closely as he unrolled the paper. The proud, relaxed expression he had worn a second ago vanished instantly. His jaw clenched tight, and all the color drained from his skin as he read the header. "What is it?" I asked, stepping closer, my hand still gripping my dagger. "What's wrong?" Lucius didn't look up at me. His eyes were wide, staring at the seal of the Continental Council. "The high lords are calling an emergency meeting," Lucius whispered, his voice dangerously low. "And they're demanding the King's presence right now."
