Cursed Luna
I gently placed her on the ground as far away from the curling mist as I could, and after lingering on her hair for a little too long, I made myself get up.
I hissed and slid my claws free. I growled into the shadows, "Come on." The closest person lunged.
I raked my claws through its chest, meeting it halfway.
There was no opposition. The shape vanished as if it had never existed, exploding into mist. I whirled, cutting at the next.
It also disbanded. One more, one more.
No matter how many I struck down, the figures always regenerated and seemed just out of my grasp, their numbers constant.
