Alpha Went Crazy After I Faked My Death

Alpha Went Crazy After I Faked My Death

My family is the oldest healing bloodline in the Frostmoon Pack, and I am the most promising talent to become the pack's Chief Healer. My destined mate, who promised to mark me on my 20th birthday, instead chose my stepsister Eliza on the very day that was meant to be mine. Then Alaric Blackwood, the legendarily powerful and cold Alpha of the Blackwood pack, openly pursued me after I was abandoned. For five years after becoming his mate, he treated me with tender care and bone-deep devotion. He told me not to work so hard as a healer and to focus on being his Luna. Until I accidentally overheard a conversation between him and his loyal Beta. "Alpha, Eliza has already become Chief Healer. How long will you continue pretending to love Amara?" "It doesn't matter since I can't be Eliza's mate anyway. Besides, as long as I'm with Amara, she won't interfere with Eliza's happiness." Every night, he prayed to the Moon Goddess, and every word was filled with longing and love for Eliza. "May the Moon Goddess bless Eliza. May she find peace in body and spirit." "May the Moon Goddess grant Eliza all she desires, and protect all that she loves." ... "Eliza, we're not destined for each other in this life. I only pray we become fated mates in the next." Only then did I realize that my mate—his body belonged to me, but his heart belonged deeply to my stepsister. I've prepared a fake identity and planned a staged death at the hands of rogue wolves. From now on, we will never meet again, in this life or any other.

Josephine Averly brought her daughter, Julie, to the hospital for a consultation, only to discover the attending doctor was the ex-boyfriend she hadn't seen in years. Seven years had passed, and she had reinvented herself completely—her name, her life, even her body. Gone was her once-chubby frame. He didn't recognize her. How could he? He had no idea she had secretly given birth to his child. Julie clutched her hand. "Mommy, why are you crying?" Josephine couldn't answer. All she wanted was to turn and flee. … In her youth, Josephine had fallen for the university’s golden boy—and, against all odds, won his heart. The entire Beller University had buzzed with scandal: Julian Faulkner, the untouchable heartthrob known for his icy elegance, was secretly dating. And his mysterious girlfriend? A shy, awkward girl with curves. Josephine became the target of endless ridicule, scorned by her peers. She still remembered his voice, cold and rough, as he said to his friends, "It's just a fling. I'm leaving the country soon anyway." And just like that, her bittersweet love had ended in heartbreak. Now, fate had brought them back together, shattering the peaceful life she had worked so hard to build. She tried everything to draw a clear line between their worlds. Somehow, that line ended in his bed. He used every trick—pressure, bribes, fake illnesses, tantrums, outright shamelessness—to chase off any man who dared come near her. "Julian, do you even realize I have a boyfriend now?" In the back of his sleek Maybach, his hands locked around her waist as he kissed her with desperate hunger. "Then let me be your lover," he rasped. "I'm richer than him. Younger. And I can make you feel so much better." Seven years ago, he pulled her into a secret romance. Seven years later, he begged to be her dirty secret. She told him he was sick in the head. He simply replied, "I really am sick."

My Wedding, His Breakdown

My Wedding, His Breakdown

I dated my younger brother’s best friend, Dylan Lane, for three years. More than once, he told me how much he loathed arranged marriages and how he hated being chained by family interests. However, one night, after another bout of indulgence, he wrapped his arms around me and begged me sweetly to design a wedding ring for his fiancée—someone he had never even met. The smile froze on my face, yet he just said indifferently, “Aren’t people like us all destined to marry for our families' benefit?” Seeing the blood drain from my face, he even chuckled. “Vee, don’t you tell me you're still as naïve as a 20-year-old girl, thinking I would ever marry you? At most, we're just… pillow friends." Later, I agreed to the marriage my family had arranged for me. Dylan showed up on my wedding day, disheveled and red-eyed. He fell to his knees and begged me not to leave. I stood beside my new husband, hand in hand, and smiled faintly as I chuckled. “Didn’t you say people like us were born for arranged marriages? I’m simply doing what you always wanted me to do. Shouldn’t you be happy?”
