“It was a mistake… Jace came on to me at the—” Before I can finish, Damien grabs Jace by the collar, rage overtaking his face. “You son of a bitch!” he roars, pulling Jace closer and slamming his fist into his face. The sound of the impact is sickening, a harsh crack that echoes through the kitchen. Jace stumbles back, crashing to the floor, clutching his jaw. “Damien! No!” I shout, but it’s useless.

The latter was even ignoring her most of the time. She just complied to the instructions provided by Calliope. She can't even refuse Zarek's assistance because he's the fighter of the team. Heinz is the tech, Logan is the sniper, Van is the doctor, and her–the thief. Although all of them can fight, but Zarek is still the deadliest among all of them. Raven was the only one who dares to snap at Zarek. She even dares to hate him. Her thoughts were cut off when her phone rang. She didn't even get to answer it because it was ended within seconds.

Slam turned towards me and smirked a malicious smile. I fought back a shudder as his fist slammed me in the face. I stumbled backward and fell on my butt. He charged at me, and I jumped up only to have him take me down again. He was on top of me. He lifted his fist to hit me, but I got an idea. They said there were no rules…

And I glare at that handsome man. "You, don't you have eyes? How can you?.... I raise my finger at him to scold him but he interrupts me by showing his palm to me." "Look, girl. I don't have time to waste on you. I didn't do it intentionally. A puppy came in front of my car so I had to avoid it and in a hurry, I accidentally hit your bike. It was an accident. Besides you got hurt and….." He snapped his head at my bike which was not well either.

"Yeah, well, I don't." Ten years of my life, gone. I gave everything. And all I got was betrayal wrapped up in his perfect little compromise. Why should I swallow that? Why make life easier for him—or that sad little widow? The call ended. The tears burned at the edge, but I forced them down.

He drove closer to him, making sure to cover every distance between them, and then he slammed his bike sideways into Jettison's own with such a brutal force. My breath hitched subconsciously just as Jettison's bike shifted a bit, going off track and moving dangerously close to the barricade. My heart slammed so violently I thought my ribs would shatter. “Sick fucker! I knew he wasn’t going to play fair!” Morticia screams beside me. But before we knew it, Jett recovered from the hit. He leaned so low again on his bike that his knee nearly scraped the asphalt, then swerved and pulled his bike back up with a growl of tires.

He tries to defend himself, but I manage to get a couple of good hits in. “FIGHT ME, YOU WEAKLING!!”. I yell at him, forcing his head down and striking it with my knee. He staggers on his feet, looking completely out of it. I decide to give him some time to recompose himself. I am not even close to being done with him yet. So, I circle him again. A sadistic grin forms on my face when I see him staggering on his feet, with all the blood dripping down his face. They made me this way. Karma is a b*tch, but only if you are too.
