I swallowed hard. We continued walking. My eyes didn't stop checking out each houses that we passed. We reached the tallest one amongst the houses… a castle. The most beautiful of them all. It was situated right in the center of the compound, as if the other buildings were meant to guard this particular one. Goosebumps washed over me the moment we walked inside. The inside was darker. From the major to the tiniest decorations were dark. Portraits of wolves and demons hung on the walls.

The red stone shimmered like it was melting under the sun, making the whole place look like a giant velvet cake of doom. Lush green lawns unfurled across the campus like a dream. White fountains gushed at every turn, trimmed hedges shaped like wolves, dragons, and things I couldn’t even name. A stadium-sized playground sprawled to one side. And behind it, a plaza—gym, pool, library, even a damn shopping center. It was Hogwarts on steroids. And our jaws? On. The. Floor. That’s when we heard the click. “DAD!” Keisha screamed.

A colossal dome arched overhead, painted with celestial sigils that shifted with every breath, depicting the four ancient Houses that ruled Aetherborn. At the center of the hall stood the Sanctum of Mirrors a vast, glowing circle of crystal platforms arranged like petals. Each one shimmered in a different hue, representing a Castle: Noctis, in black and red flame. Lupaxis, in molten gold and deep earth tones. Wyverndale, in blue and silver stormlight. Tenebrae, in lilac and dark velvet hues. The first years, still buzzing with nerves and awe, were gathered in the center ring. They stood on the pale, neutral crystal where no colors yet burned, unclaimed.

The inn is tucked under a canopy of trees that grow on the outer edge of the Black Woods. I imagine this is the house young Hansel and Gretel stumbled upon. A grand estate, it is reminiscent of a gingerbread house, fitted with an aggressively sharp triangular roof with decorative fascia with fanciful swoops and swirls like royal icing, small windows you can see out of but never escape from with fanciful filigrees, opaque windows that look like poured sugar. Plus it’s quite possible a cannibalistic old witch hag lives inside it. The thought of it makes me giggle to myself.

Cent corrected Matilda which only earned her another set of grunts from the zombie girl who would rather spend her lunch break at the Sinner’s café than be stuck near the hangout area of the Ambivalent students who were giving them a hard glare every chance they could get. The greenhouse was the Sinner’s Café counterpart for the Ambivalent students—only theirs was located inside the premise of the academy and not their dorm territories. Basically, that was where they train and teach knights for battles, even if they were from noble families or royals. It meant that I would also study there. Great. I'll learn how to be a murderer. I cackled in my mind. Also, in respect for the Four Godly Beasts, there were four dorms named after them. "That sounded like Hogwarts just now," I commented as we I finally reached the end of the forest and flew over the sea. The cold sea breeze brushed against our skin, also smelling slight saltiness from it. Morris sent me a weird look and I shook my head. "Don't mind me."

Tessa tells me and I look up at the arching pair of staircases vanishing above into darkness. Since we are the Blood Moon pack now, we are allowed to take the other staircase. So we both start walking upstairs, the heels of my stilettos clicking on the stone floor. "Another pair of stairs?" I look at the similar pair of arching stairs that move towards the fourth floor. "I guess the architects were super lazy. So they made each floor appear the same." Tessa remarks and I nod. Our path shifts towards the right of the main hall that leads to a huge corridor. We walk past the large glass windows standing tall on the stoned vintage walls. Gives the Hogwarts vibes.

It is enchanting. "Hey!" Freyja called to me, her voice getting a little louder. Perhaps because her blood is boiling hot on me. I didn't know because of admiration and amusement that I stopped walking. I went on again. When we were in front of them and turned left, I saw a bulletin board that looked like a shed. There is a map of the entire Forest Survival. I also saw what the five houses are for. The first one on the left is for Sunday Study. Next to the left is detention. Next is the library followed by the infirmary. And the last, the House Without Names.

This followed by 2 more flags with an emblem of a flying white bird and a large black rock covered by green moss. I asked Steven about them and he explained that the flags identify the dorms for students who are pure elemental conjurers. We settled in one of the cafe’s and then he proceeded to explain things better, the dorms with the dragon flag are called House of Fire, the dorms with the swimming green turtle flag are called House of Water, the dorms with the flying white bird flag are called House of Air, and the dorms with the large black rock covered by green moss flag are called House of Earth.

The old paintings and tapestries that hung on the walls seemed to come alive as you walked past them. The dorm was divided up into sections which were called cabins. It was an area of three or four rooms .. each room had its own bathroom and housed two students. And those rooms shared a common room…. Sooo Harry Potter. The common rooms all had their own fireplace which we kept going at all times during the colder months .. like right now.
