But the last tapestry was different—unfinished. Frayed at the edges. Its central figure was a woman wreathed in silver flame, standing before a crescent moon, with a child held aloft in her arms. I tell her everything, showing her the translation that Layla and Arnold sent over, and explaining everything we know about the spell encased within the carving. “She also wants more pictures,” I say. “Do you have it on you?” Orsina pulls it out of her pocket and slides it across the tabletop toward me. I try my best to get everything Layla asked for, including close up shots of the little stones embedded in the creature’s eyes, and the fine detail work on the bear’s fur and the wolf’s tail.
