Horror Hotel Novels & Stories

I was ready to stay in this role until I grew old and gray. After the boss left, I settled into my usual routine of sneaking in some downtime. The front desk job was usually pretty dull. After the morning rush, only a handful of people trickled in throughout the day. The hotel had surveillance cameras in the hallways, but unfortunately, the boss-controlled rooms were off-limits to monitoring. I couldn’t see what was happening inside, but the occasional bloodcurdling screams from the back told me plenty. Every now and then, a player would stumble out of a room, drenched in blood and visibly shaken. Just as they’d start to feel a shred of relief, crimson tentacles would shoot out from another

I steeled myself and opened the door. The hallway was awash in red. Smears and spatters of bright and dark blood covered the walls, the floor, and my door. My head reeled. What the hell happened? Why was there so much blood outside my door? Hadn't the guy in 603 seen it through his peephole? I couldn't help looking toward apartment 603. To my surprise, the door stood half-open, and it was dead quiet inside. I picked my way past the bloodstains and made my way to apartment 603.

The next second, the Patchwork Monster tore the man in half. He tossed the body outside casually. Just then, a crisp, bell-like voice sounded outside. “It’s after work hours, who’s so rude as to be throwing bodies around?” A young girl with three heads and eight arms appeared at the doorway. With just one look at the shop, anger filled her voice, and her hair stood on end. “Who the hell had a death wish and smashed the Number One Must-Eat shop in the entire horror game?”

After a short while the sickness subsides and I climb back in and we continue our journey towards the hotel. The hotel looks really cheap, which isn’t a problem at all, but it gives off an eerie, spooky vibe, like it’s haunted or something. I shiver at the thought. How stupid does that seem, a werewolf afraid of ghosts? Jeez, I am pathetic. The room itself is clean and comfortable. All I want to do is sleep right now. I have to go back to the hospital tomorrow and I’m exhausted. After I freshen up, I head to bed, wanting to forget about the day.

Chapter 13: The Safe House The hotel was called The Morrison. Not a chain. Not fancy. Just a brick building wedged between a laundromat and a pawn shop, with a neon sign that flickered like it was dying. The kind of place you drove past without noticing. The kind of place where no one asked questions. Lucien paid cash. Three nights. Two rooms. No names. The clerk—a woman with tired eyes and a gold tooth—didn't even look at us. Just slid the keys across the counter and went back to her crossword puzzle.

Just a chatty old man. “Why is the hotel so full?” I ask, glancing in Maeve’s direction as the music grows rowdier, louder. “You mentioned a festival?” “Aye, a few towns over, down in one of the valleys. Heatherland Falls, I believe, is where it was held. Juniper Grove is one of the last settlements with a hotel before you have to drop down in the valleys again to reach the Roguelands and the border. The storm, I’m telling’ you, it’s worse out there than I’ve ever seen it. Everyone passing through has no choice but to bunker down for the night, including this hellish band.”

The building was still as cold as they remembered. The corridors were silent to death. Dim lights add to the chillness of the walls. A certain odour lingered in the dark holes in the walls. It was a castle. But it seemed like nobody lived in it. A faint hint of blood entered Max's nostrils and he held his breath. It burnt his inside.

“Then let’s end this.” The abandoned hotel was a crumbling structure of red brick and broken glass. The convoy arrived just after midnight, headlights cutting through the darkness. They moved in silence—Isadora at point, Riccardo and Camilla following closely behind. Inside, the walls smelled of damp rot and old secrets. The first gunshot cracked the silence like lightning. Chaos erupted. Camilla ducked behind a crumbling support beam as bullets tore through plaster. Riccardo returned fire, shouting commands over the radio. “Sweep the west stairwell! Secure the roof access!”

Zane shrugs looking at Blake. “That would be true if we I didn’t have a fucking vamp nest disguised as a fucking hotel” They both looked at me in horror. “I ain’t playin’, it’s definitely worse than we had first thought, all our shelters are missing well over half the inhabitants. Only humans seem to be missing so far. By pure chance I saw a group of vamps hanging around a hotel. We had it watched just to see if it wasn’t a coincidence and it’s crawling with them. We have no idea what actually happens inside. I manage to get in one time but haven’t been able to since. The security has increased tenfold so something is unquestionably going on inside. When I was there it smelt overly sterile s
