One Year with the Mafia Boss

One Year with the Mafia Boss

I hope I do not end up screaming so loudly that my baby decides to make an early entrance into the world. I have always preferred romance novels over any other genre. There is something comforting about them, even if they do not always reflect reality. Horror, on the other hand, fills me with dread. It gives me a wild imagination, and I often end up with nightmares after reading or watching anything scary. I remember the times in school when my roommates would roll their eyes at me during horror movies because I could not stop screaming. Eventually, they would kick me out of the room, and I would miss the rest of the movie. The memory makes me giggle, though it is tinged with a hint of nosta

Romancing the Horror

Romancing the Horror

His wrinkled face looked like it was crawling with countless wriggling worms. I shuddered and stepped back, whispering to Silvia, "Good thing I've got you. This place is terrifying." She snorted and suddenly shoved me forward, straight toward George. With an icy laugh, she said, "This pretty boy will make a great offering. You're going to love him." Before I could react, George gestured, and several eerie puppets stepped forward to pin me down and drain my blood. A sharp bell rang out, echoing through the night.

The Final Cut

The Final Cut

After two days of high temperatures and intense boredom, he remembered the three books. Sam pulled out the one with the Mummy on the cover, because it looked the most innocuous. It was entitled the Ninth Pan Book of Horror Stories. He wasn’t the least bit prepared for what he found inside. The first three stories involved emasculation, murder and burning at the stake. In his fevered state Sam felt he was not only watching the characters’ suffering, he was experiencing it along with them. He flung the book at the wall and then hid it again, wishing he could burn it like Jinnot, the young girl in the third story who was burned alive.

Find Him

Find Him

“What kind of story would you like me to tell you?” “Well,” he said carefully. “Maybe not too scary because when I go to bed, I will be thinking about monsters the whole time. And if it isn’t a little bit scary, then I won’t be keen.” The boy looked up at Ed from the shadows by the door, where he was now waiting. “Do you know any scary stories?” “Yes,” Ed replied, rising from the couch. “Do you know any stories about The Critters?” “I don’t think so.” “Those are the best stories,”

Before He Wakes

Before He Wakes

“Why do you think that is?” “It’s obvious. The locals grew up hearing all the spooky stories about this house, had it drilled into their brains this is one of the most haunted spots in the city.” “Power of suggestion?” Brad spread his hands and shrugged. “I’m just saying it’s at least psychologically possible that being fed a steady diet of those kinds of tales could . . . color one’s perception. Have you jumping at shadows and reading sinister intentions into the most mundane occurrences. I don’t think it’s inconceivable it could even foster a need to create circumstances that would lend credence to the stories.”

Rhapsody for a Wolf

Rhapsody for a Wolf

We eat our food, flick crumbs to the sparrows and brainstorm themes for the photography unit. “Photography could be a theme,” Tom insists. We started talking about it on our way over to the park, and Tom has a bit of a one track mind. “I keep telling you, at least one of the other groups will probably pick that,” Reese counters. “I want something unique.” “Horror,” says Jade. “Horror?” Tala asks. “Like… fear as a theme?” “Like horror films. Monsters and vampires and werewolves and zombies.” Jade does something with her arms, holding them out stiffly and moaning “braiiins.”

The Ascension

The Ascension

He only had to wait for Lucy to edit it. The feeling of satisfaction and relief washed over him that instant as he rested his fingers for a minute before going at it again. He had already written two collections of horror stories submitted to his editor. The intention was for some of the mild and medium scary tales to be published on paperbacks. However, the truly mind-blowing and sick horror stories were published digitally on web novel websites where he would have no problem bypassing censorship by replacing disturbing words with asterisks and euphemisms. The feeling of writing without being stared at by dozens of eyes from filthy beings made his mood ecstatic. His fingers were literally f

Quite the unique story in this website. I have read until chapter 50, it's a nice fantasy that is also like just a slice of life, at times heavy, at times just like a breath of fresh air. Only problem is the expensive chapters. Good work though.

Falling for Sakura

Falling for Sakura

Michael said, “Sakura told me we could play hide-and-seek, or we could tell scary stories.” Akira thought about it for a moment and then said, “You know what? How about we freshen up and change into our pajamas and then meet up in my room. Then we can tell each other scary stories. I know a lot of very scary Japanese ones.” Michael looked excited. “Really? Awesome.” Akira turned to Sakura and asked, “How about it?” Sakura nodded. “Sure, that sounds fun.” She turned to ask Mary and Katherine. “How about you two?”
