Darren: "although it's a little childish, now that everyone has agreed, let's have a competition." So he began to choose a horse. Honi Ruan chose a beautiful Arabia horse, Edison chose a black blood horse, Darren chose a white horse, Yuri chose a silver white one, and Fremingo chose a purplish red one. The five of them led the horse to the grassland, which was marked specially for horse racing. Pointing at the stones one kilometer away in front of him, Edison said, "the one who gets the red flag first will win." Everyone nodded.

I watched from the window as a battalion of Tohr's soldiers stood proudly on outside the gates. Golden warriors waiting for their leaders, they all sat on top of their horses standing patiently. A man at the front held an enormous black horse by the reins who like to stomp the ground impatiently. Or rather, what they cultivated into a horse. It was this weird dog/bear/ horse creature they called thershons. He seemed to wish to get going and was irritated that this man was holding him back. I smiled slightly, thinking to myself, yes that was definitely Tohr's thershons. Just as strong, powerful, and impatient as the man himself.

she asked beaming up with smile “yes, which would you like to ride" Todd asked looking around the ranch at the different types of horses available “the big brown one" Amber said pointing to a brown horse in the stall, she walked closer, her mouth opened as she gawker at the horse, the horse was beautiful, the brown colour seems shine and the small black tint at the end of the horse's mane made it look more beautiful. The ranch attendant who was in one of the horse’s stall peeped out and said

Roxanne changed quickly, her eyes shining with excitement. "You look beautiful in anything, my fair princess," Jaxon complimented her as she stepped out. He took her to the stable, where twenty horses of different breeds awaited. There was Sugarplum, a beautiful chestnut mare with a white blaze on her forehead, Noir, a sleek black stallion with a star-shaped marking on his nose, a proud Arabian named Zephyr, a gentle giant of a Shire horse named Thunder, and several others, each with their unique markings and personalities.

I can’t believe that in just a few weeks the girls will be at the ranch with me. Ben, my trainer has picked two horses for Immi and I, one is a beautiful dark almost chocolate brown with a silky pale mane, the biggest brown eyes with long lashes I ever did see. Her name is Maple and it suits her. The other horse is black as the night without any moonlight or stars to light it up. Her name is Darkness, her mane and tail are ebony and those dark eyes of hers, well they sure have reeled me in. She will be my horse and Immi will have Maple.

“That is probably the best Thanos impression I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. Alright, muñequita. You’ve made your claim and backed it up. You are damn good.” Lola nearly choked on her smoothie. “What was that?” “What do you mean, what was that? That was my impression of Morgan Freeman. I think. You do know who he is, right?” Lola stared at him for a full minute before pushing her sunglasses back. “Let’s just stick to what we do best. You, tech. Me, voices.” Santiago shrugged. “Fine by me.” They drove by several palm estates, merging with the Madrid traffic a couple of times. Then they veered off into an isolated road separating from the main highway, and a private property signboard in

“Nothing more.” The stables sat at the far end of the zoo, away from the main paths. Only four horses right now, but Midnight was the one that always caught her attention. He was a big black Friesian cross, seventeen hands easy, with a temper that made most keepers nervous. Beautiful animal, but man, unpredictable. He’d kicked a gate once when a new guy tried to rush him.

It pulses once, like a heartbeat. I swallow hard. Strange things have always happened when I’m upset, lights flickering, books falling, dreams that feel too real, but this feels different. Like the pendant is reacting to something out there. Or calling to it. The fog thins as we turn onto a narrow road lined with lanterns shaped like pumpkins. They sway even though there’s no wind. “Hallow’s Edge goes all out for Halloween,” Ms. Carter says cheerfully. “Biggest festival in the county. You’ll be here just in time.”

The other warriors are standing to attention but it is at utmost important that the new recruits will be ready if a war should break out. Although there has been stirrings I am communicating with their Alpha.

Horth saw the pain thrower appear, knew his time was short, and sprang into the air. The flechette thrower thumped, a stream of darts hit the overhead, and Horth got in the way. The scream sounded like a woman in pain. Jyro released the trigger. Horth fell through the cold metal deck, through the ship's hull, and into the blackness beyond. Or did he? Horth felt something pinch the back of his neck and opened his eyes. The ground swayed back and forth as the female carried her errant offspring back to the den from which it had so recently escaped. It would be safe there, while she returned to the hunt.
