Before war broke loose between all begins my father had said that we as a pack could communicate with other packs no matter how far they were telepathically, however after the war a curse was placed by an evil and powerful spell bounder. Not only was our communication severed but all firstborns were created to breathe only one breath before parsing. Somehow I managed to survive being the firstborn of my Alpha father. We never understood how I continued to breathe, unlike many others who never got the chance. Hence my father nicknamed me lucky as I continued to grow and surpass death that so many other cubs could not. Since Ellis has read every book in hopes of finding a way to break the curs

“The curse is activated when the families are cruel to each other. That’s why the fighting just kept making everything worse and worse. What they think is a prophecy is actually a blessing of friendship and binding.” “Then how did they end up thinking they had to kill everyone?” Nash asks. Jasper shrugs. “I guess they forgot about the initial spell, and then when something happened to activate the curse, they just kept blaming each other.” “I found the carving buried in a riverbed,” Orsina explains. “It’s possible that it just got lost and forgotten, or someone might have wanted it to be hidden away.” “Someone who didn’t want the wolf pack and bear clan to be friends,” Zach whispers.

" She held up her wrist, showcasing a sparkling green bracelet. Then, she smirked, pointing at the simple bracelet on my wrist. "Do you really think Ethan bought that especially for you? It's just a freebie that came with mine. You're only fit for my hand-me-downs!" I glanced down at my bracelet. It was a birthday gift from Ethan a few months ago, and I had always treasured it even though it was not expensive. Yet, it had unexpectedly become Mandy's tool for humiliation, a weapon to wound me.

A freak accident that left me completely alone in the world. But now, I couldn’t help but wonder. Were they werewolves too? Had they known this would happen to me? Alaric said the curse didn’t activate unless you killed someone. If they were werewolves, had they never triggered the curse? Or was it something else entirely? I glanced at the window, where the light of the setting sun was fading, giving way to the night. The full moon was coming. I could feel it—a strange hum at the back of my mind, growing stronger with each passing moment.

"Actually, that is one of its many names. She made a deal with Slade; how else do you think she discovered its location? He told her about it. But the very same magical plant capable of healing could turn out to be dangerous to others. For Lycans like you, it becomes a... bane." "What about the curse? That was supposed to be a cure to the curse..." I trailed off, something finally registering in my mind. The curse had begun with her arrival, and for the few days she left the pack, there wasn't a single incident, I had brushed that away because it happened randomly, but what if there was more to that? "There was never a curse, was there?" He shook his head. "No, there wasn't."

I confirmed. "Then why are you so worried? You should be brimming with happiness" "Well I found out how the curse came to be, and it's not a very good story" "I'm on all ears Jasmine" "Well…”

So, I’m sure he’s shocked, and by the look on his face I’d say I was right. The change in her demeanor is obvious. She looks at me very serious, she’s all business now. “This is the spell that made your father the monster he is.” She says shoving the book closer to me. I look at the spell, not really sure what I’m supposed to do with this information. Not to mention I can’t read half of it. She sighs, “The moon man has been around for centuries. He’s supernatural, but he should have passed a long time ago. There’s no reason for him to be alive. He’s been dormant for years though. No packs have been attacked in almost eighteen years. The witches thought it was finally over, we thought he fina

"What… what are you saying?" "They poisoned you. Then, fearing your soul’s revenge, they bound your spirit to Alaric’s blood with magic. That’s what made you tethered to his descendants. It wasn't your choice. Then… then Alaric went mad from your constant presence. He decided to shatter your soul and seal it. The ritual went wrong. That was when… that was when the 'curse' was born. From your unbearable pain. It wasn't a spell. It was a scream."
