Behind the scenes
I watch them as they hurry away from us, I plead with them internally to take me with them, as if they could hear me, they hurry away even more.
I swallow.
Looking up at him, his eyes stared at me intently, I could not read what those eyes meant, and I hated it, from Joanne and friends, I knew I messed up, but how far did I go?
“I didn’t like the feeling of being left out.” I say weakly.
He doesn’t respond, he only stares at me, wordlessly, his eyes unreadable. My spine crawled, an uncomfortable sensation sit at the bottom of my stomach.
“They were saying all sorts of things but no one was explaining anything to me, especially since it was about me.”
