But I didn’t turn to him. My eyes stayed on Darius, on the flicker of humanity still buried somewhere beneath the ruin. “End it,” I said. “Before it ends you.”
He looked at me for a long, hollow moment. His weapon hung loose at his side, his shoulders trembling with exhaustion.
