She turns her head sideways but sees nothin. A single bulb turns on, Emily almost scream in excitement but something is wrong. The bulb light is unstable as it turns on and off, Emily reach for the light. She stop in her track when another bulb turns on, then another, then another. Now that her vision is clear, Emily sees the monster luring around. They sneered, bearing their fangs and some, their needle like teeth. She stiffens and dread fills the her body turning her face pale.

Charlotte's deep growling cut through the stillness, punctuated by the sound of crying. I almost tripped over a fallen woman, her angular face characteristic of her Dumont heritage, skin pale, eyes closed. Sassafras leaped from my arms as I looked around in horror. The foyer was filled with the fallen, Dumonts all, from the look of them, some staring empty-eyed at the ceiling, others groaning softly, weeping.

“I’d think you’d be begging for more.” When he threw his head back while laughing at his own sick humor, Edwin seized the moment and twisted from beneath him. Before the vampire could grasp what was happening, he grabbed his head with both hands and pulled with all his might.
