It was vivid and fast, my fingers moving on instinct and guided by the memory that wad etched into my mind. After several minutes, I felt no more inspiration coming, so I sat back and stared at the sketch. My fingers had gone sore, my breathing a bit shallow.

As I did, my eyes didn't change colour, but they did start to glow brightly, 'It didn't work... And I didn't know my eyes glowed when I used my mana now.' Sketching in the library to keep myself awake while a tutor droned on about trade routes. I used to draw faceless people. Hands, mostly. Eyes. Anything to anchor me in my own body when my father talked about alliances and expectations and heirs. Now, the shape forming in the margin is very specific. Strong jaw. Slightly crooked nose. I questioned, jutting my chin towards the ceiling as if Tia could see me. "Oh, just a drawing," She answered, and I tilted my head to the side, trying to understand the patterns. I hummed, rubbing my temples. "What does it mean?" I questioned, scanning the white surface which had some dots and lines connecting some parts. "Squint your eyes," Tia instructed. I followed her instructions, making out the drawing of a man and a woman. "Oh, wow! How was it drawn to only work when you squint your eyes?" I asked, releasing my brows and eyes.

I looked simply magnificent. I drew a line with my W3LL people expressionist liquid eyeliner and eye pencil over the line I already made to intensify the look. Here, I worked slowly across the eye, not just from the middle. Using a brush, I blended and extended it out. Then I traced the pencil along my bottom lashes and blended again.
