I looked away. “Oh, how adorable. I can’t wait to meet you.” While hearing my mother’s glee, my stomach felt a bit sick. My mother actually believed he was joking about the forever part. “Mom, I think you should know about—” Zaliver interrupted me once more. “Your flight details will be sent to you shortly. I hate to do this, but we must end the call. You should be here in two days.“ I opened my mouth to protest and ask him why he wouldn’t let me finish my goddamn sentences.
