“What do you mean?”
“Well,” I began, organizing my thoughts, “those werewolves who met their deaths by your hands, all five hundred and thirty-seven of them, according to the official count, had families, friends, loved ones, and romantic partners. It’s only logical to assume that at least some of those people want revenge. They’re grieving, they’re angry, and they’re looking for someone to blame.”
“We didn’t kill all five hundred and thirty-seven of them, Sage,” Asher defended, his tone remarkably calm given the subject matter. “The majority of deaths that night weren’t caused by us.”
