How Many Words To Make A Novel Novels & Stories

So baring with me and sticking it out, means more to me than you could possibly imagine. Second, I want to say this is not the end. This is an intermission. A break or hiatus if you want to call it. With updates being so scarce, I’m sure you’re thinking that I should have done this earlier. And maybe I should have. I wanted to push and get to a point though where I felt okay and not like I was going to regret stepping away for a moment. So far, this story has 125 chapters. That is my second longest (behind Shift) and we currently have 252,800 words. That is nuts! That’s more than Twilight and New Moon combined! Hahaha!

“Hold on, I need to find a suitable angle.” Peter chuckled. “Okay, since it will just take a few minutes.” A few minutes were nothing. Even if Thomas was given a few hours, he would not be able to complete the task. Look at how long a person needs to read a book that contains one million words? One hundred million words means one hundred books that contain one million words! We are talking about one hundred books! That was like finding a wrong word from one hundred books that contained one hundred million words in ten minutes.

She laughed and said : “A book of course. It's my novel , the missing king', you think you are the only one who writes books.” I took it from the desk and began to glance through it. Now it was clear to me that this girl is pretty talented. I loved her style of writing but I was surprised that someone would spend so much time writing such a huge book. “Don't you have a laptop?. You should have typed this rather than wasting those ink” “I do but I prefer to write it down, it kind of makes me feel connected to the work. And I have the soft copy, in case you are worried. It is a 45 thousand words plus book”

"I'm sorry, okay? I was just imagining a plot from a feel-good story. If you don't like it, I won't do it again." We went to a different restaurant, and after lunch, we each headed home. As soon as I got back, I opened my laptop to update my novel. Mary had suggested splitting it into two parts—the production team planned to film the first part first, and if it performed well, they would then move on to the second. The first part had to be finished by the end of the year, or filming would be delayed. My schedule was tight. To keep up, I stayed at my computer late into the night and managed to write 20 thousand words in a single day.

I didn't know how true that was, and for very different reasons than I had imagined. That was the start of my Christmas vacation, but far from the end. Up to this point, I've written in excess of the required 3000 words (3212). I've also front loaded my vocabulary words. Dr. Hamilton, if you could find it in your heart to commiserate with my plight, please read no further, and grade me on what I've written so far. * * *

My fingers were cramping, my thesaurus was smoking, and I kept picturing my editor sending me an email with only one word: "Seriously?" I realized: I should just end it here, gloriously, before I completely lose my mind, break my keyboard, and start writing about the wallpaper pattern instead. Speaking of losing my mind... I pulled out my notes the other day. When I started outlining this story and figuring out the twists and turns, I came up with almost 60... maybe 50-something... different plot points and outlines just to keep the momentum going. Sixty! Fifty! I lost count! That's how dedicated I was to not making this story boring. That’s like a novella’s worth of rejected ideas!

While moving along with the song, my fingers quickly tapped the keyboard, creating that familiar sound that the four corners of my room hear every day. My eyes were focused on the screen, possibly the only thing I've been looking at for the past year aside from television. As usual, I hardly noticed the time. Half an hour, an hour, until it reaches two hours. And the previously blank screen is now filled with three thousand words. "The end." I said fondly while pressing the letter' D,' a sign that I had finished another novel. "Finished." I smiled and lengthened the last word, raising my arms in triumph and letting out a big yawn before slumping back on my chair.

We have come to the end, and while it is a bit abrupt, I’d like to clarify some things. The book is already at 290 thousand plus words, I was really worried about its readability because anything longer would probably scare readers off. I don’t know how everything usually operates because I am a mildly new author on the platform and this is my first completed book, but it felt like Luna Scarlett was getting long, and if I was to go further into settling some other points in the story….. It’d have been way longer. Now to pick up some of the points I left unfilled in the story (Without giving any spoilers of course.)
