How Many Words To Make A Novel Novels & Stories

Hello dear readers! So, I am starting to hesitate with this story as we are closely approaching 100k words and I feel like we are only about halfway through Laura's journey. So, can I get a show of hands-on who would prefer I just keep going even if the book gets to 100k plus words or break this down into 2 books? My thinking is that I add an authors note a the end of 'book' 1 so to speak and re-write the synopsis to advise any new readers that it will be 2 books in one.

It's just that my word count every chapter cannot be shorter than 2000 word count so I have to divide it in order for you to be able to pay it in lesser coins. Everyone processes stories differently, and what is thrilling for one reader may be overwhelming for another. Please proceed with awareness and care. AUTHOR'S NOTE: Before you dive into this story, I want to share something personal with you. I wrote this novel when I was just thirteen years old. At the time, I had no formal training in writing, no grasp of complex literary techniques, and very little understanding of storytelling rules. All I had was a vivid imagination, a notebook (or keyboard), and the desire to bring my characters to life.

My table was just filled with files and even more files like an endless ocean of inked papers I had to read through. If I begin reading a novel as the same speed as the files I read every day, I might be able to complete a five-hundred-page novel in less than a day; yes, these were my realistic expectations. My desk was a scattered mess, and I couldn’t even find a place to keep my coffee on it.

I am trying to be consistent on my posts for you guys so we can really get into the good stuff! P.s I do not choose the amount the chapters cost, so if they are pricy I apologize for that too but I try to keep my chapters around 2k words but if I need to for my readers I can try to break them up.
