How Many Words To Make A Novel Novels & Stories

Hello guys. So I've seen some complaints about me updating only once a day and I just want to clarify something. I write very long chapters. Some of my chapters can go up to 2800 words. And while other authors would rather divide that word count into two, I chose to publish it at once because of the cost of chapters on the app nowadays.

This has been a story that has been five years in the making. This went from a five page 2000 word document that I wrote with the help of a few friends the a well over 40,000 word novel. At this point, I don't have anymore of the story written out. This is due to a career change that takes up most of my time. I hope to continue writing this story and I'm even thinking of a possible sequel, however the process will be much slower than planned.

GoodNovel will promote your book based on the following criteria: 1. Frequent and regular updating: a. Updating more than 1,500 words AND at least two chapters DAILY - did but it seems free chapter is not counted ; b. Updating 25 days and more in a calendar month. - Always 2. I wish I could respond to the comments here on GoodNovel, but that is not a feature that is easily accessible for authors on the desktop. This chapter is a little over 1500 words on my end so I believe it will become 2 when it updates. As I get closer tothe end of the book, I am going back to clarify things for continuity.
