It was an unwritten, mutual understanding. Everyone thought George and I were endgame, and for a long time, so did I. However, things were different now. By choosing a path opposite to George’s, an overwhelming sense of relief washed over me. From now on, my priority was myself, and I was going to make choices for my own future, rather than constantly compromising to accommodate George.

I was really confused now, I didn’t know if I should have done something right from the beginning or continue from where I was. “I am not saying this to make you confused, neither am I choosing a path I think you should work with, or to. I am just telling you what I have observed simply, and what I think you should do avoid making decisions that will last a thorough stain in your heart for a long time, if not forever. I am also not rushing you into making a decision. I just want you to lay low, stay quiet and think of what you want so you can work towards it.

I ask after a long minute of silence, wondering what’s going on in that head of his. “What’s there to decide?” he asks, frowning but refusing to look at me. “I mean, how are we going to tell him? And when? We can’t just wake up one morning and drop that information on him. We need to make sure he understands. That when we tell him, he doesn’t get confused or upset or, I don’t know, something along those lines.” Caden sighs, the deep frown on his face never wavering, not once. After another minute of silence, or maybe processing what I just said, he turns slightly toward me.

Look I know that people go on dates. Dates lead to more things. And the more things lead to greater things. What I don’t get is how do people decide when to move forward. Is there a time limit? Or is it just a thing.” She replied. “Are we really talking about this?” he asked. “Well, who am I supposed to ask?” she asked him.

“The time has stopped. Any wishes we gathered from the past are no ordinary wishes. We must decide on our own, which memories do we trade with their wishes.” “But that doesn’t seem fair.” “Life is never fair Charlie. But we have the power to help people decide which memories they can keep. The only thing I want you to remember is that every ounce of good or bad memories matter.
