Getting back to your Kindle’s home screen from the Settings menu is pretty quick once you know where to look — though the exact steps can vary a little depending on which Kindle model or software version you have. Here’s how it usually works:
If you’re in Settings and want to return to the main home screen, look at the top of the screen for either a “Home” icon or a back arrow. On most modern Kindles (Paperwhite, Oasis, and newer basic models), there’s a little house-shaped icon in the top toolbar. Just tap that, and you’ll instantly be back at the Home screen where you can see your library, recommendations, or reading lists.
If you don’t see the Home icon right away, tap near the very top of the screen to bring up the navigation bar — that’s where the Home button usually appears. On older Kindles or those with different layouts, you might instead see a menu icon (three dots or lines). Tap it, and you should see an option that says “Home” or “Library.” Choosing that will take you back out of Settings.
One more tip: if you’re deep inside a settings submenu (like Wi-Fi or Reading Options), hitting the back arrow will move you up one level at a time. Once you’re back at the main Settings screen, the Home icon or menu option will be available again.
It’s basically: tap top of screen → tap Home icon or menu → select Home. After a couple of times, it becomes second nature.
