As I entered the first hallway, I saw why. I hurried to catch up to the keeper and noticed that someone had set up torches along the halls of the castle in such a way that it only allowed the keeper to move in only one direction. I was right behind it. The only way forward for the creature was a room on the right but it stopped and gazed back at me with hate filled eyes, hissing. Then it slipped into the room. The room was so bright and hot from fires near all 4 walls of the room. I was surprised the keeper had entered so easily.

Lorez eyes the whole interaction with something akin to envy but moves to the door to show us our rooms. We ascend the staircase at the front of the pack house as they call it and go to the third floor. He gestures to our door and says goodnight, leveling a cruel smirk and glaring eyes at the woman who is my other half. I keep my anger at bay and go to enter the room. My stomach churned at the sight of the room hidden within the very walls of the castle, yet furnished with the kind of opulence that would rival any noble’s quarters. Soft, ambient lighting cast a warm glow over the space, highlighting the intricate carvings on the wooden beams and the luxurious tapestries that adorned the walls.

Today's research had been beyond draining, adding to the fact that Maura is extremely bubbly, she basically wore me out with her endless talk. After performing the spells, I catch a cab downtown, then walk to the security company. I go inside and tell someone sitting at the desk that I’m here to tour the company. The woman behind the counter looks confused until her eyes glaze over, “Of course, follow me.” She shows me the different offices. When she begins showing me the room where the central computers are, I tell her to go back up front. The woman does. After she leaves, I go into the first room. I open a panel on the different systems. Then I cast a spell to form a rain cloud inside the room. As the water begins to pour, I watch as many of the computers spark and smoke. I let my gaze wander as I walk through the halls of the dragon castle. It is truly quite impressive. Glossy black marble with veins of shimmering gold; the volcanoes cast a red glow through the windows and give it a warm, fiery feel. The corridor gradually widens and opens up into a large circular room with a deep pit in the center. It is empty aside from a dark figure sitting at the edge of the hole. The room feels like it's pulsing, and I instantly realize who it is.
