I might not be the type to rip someone's entrails out through their nose, but the mountain howled in me too. I smiled at that, pulling out the little charm Arielle had given me to decorate my desk. It was supposed to be a soothing desk lamp or something like that. An invention of someone in the Mountainhowl that was damn hard to get a hold of. Mine had my name on it in pretty, curling letters and took the form of a little castle. A castle for a princess. The little flags rose from within the little castle, billowing a soothing, soft blue. I grabbed a pen, a highlighter, and opened the prior quarter's records before getting to work organizing the pages in the proper order.

“No humans.” That word landed wrong. Inside, the warehouse opened into something impossible—lights strung overhead, generators humming, people moving through the space. Not people. Wolves. She could feel it now, like static in her blood. Every single one of them turned when she entered. Judgment hit her like a wave. “She’s human,” someone said. “For now,” another voice answered. Dante stepped forward, command radiating off him. “Enough.” The room quieted instantly. Ari swallowed. “So… what? This is a pack meeting?”

There was nothing until there was creaking. A section of the wall beside the fireplace began to shift, the sound of stone grinding against stone filling the room. Slowly, a hidden doorway revealed itself, sliding open to expose a secret chamber. My stomach churned at the sight of the room hidden within the very walls of the castle, yet furnished with the kind of opulence that would rival any noble’s quarters. Soft, ambient lighting cast a warm glow over the space, highlighting the intricate carvings on the wooden beams and the luxurious tapestries that adorned the walls.

In the next second, we found ourselves in a school environment. I gazed at the setting of the environment. I'm guessing this is the Oakwood school. It didn't look all that different from a normal school. I was kinda expecting to see students on flying brooms, like in Harry Potter. On the surface they looked like human beings, I would have mistaken them for human beings, if I didn't know they were mythical creatures.

After performing the spells, I catch a cab downtown, then walk to the security company. I go inside and tell someone sitting at the desk that I’m here to tour the company. The woman behind the counter looks confused until her eyes glaze over, “Of course, follow me.” She shows me the different offices. When she begins showing me the room where the central computers are, I tell her to go back up front. The woman does. After she leaves, I go into the first room. I open a panel on the different systems. Then I cast a spell to form a rain cloud inside the room. As the water begins to pour, I watch as many of the computers spark and smoke. The air grew colder as they descended a narrow staircase, the flickering light of Damon’s torch casting long shadows on the damp stone walls. “Where are we going?” Hazel asked, her voice echoing in the confined space. “To the castle’s heart,” Damon replied. “There’s something here that might help us turn the tide.” They reached a heavy iron door, its surface etched with ancient symbols. I let my gaze wander as I walk through the halls of the dragon castle. It is truly quite impressive. Glossy black marble with veins of shimmering gold; the volcanoes cast a red glow through the windows and give it a warm, fiery feel. The corridor gradually widens and opens up into a large circular room with a deep pit in the center. It is empty aside from a dark figure sitting at the edge of the hole. The room feels like it's pulsing, and I instantly realize who it is.
