I laid in bed and checked the rags I had placed beneath me, the bleeding had finally started to slow to almost a complete stop. I stood naked in front of my mirror. My stomach was still had some black and blue bruising, but most had started to turn yellow. Shoe marks outlined some of my bruising. A horrid reminder, this is now my baby’s grave, desecrated by a man I knew as father, a man that was more concerned about his social standings, than his moral compass.

They barely knew each other, but he never wanted to be separated from her. They stepped into his room, the door closing softly behind them. Shaun watched his mate glide around his almost bare room, looking around. Her eyes stopped on two large drawings on the wall. Both were cities from a view that encompassed the entire city. The first one was the Nightstar Pack. The other was a city in snow-capped mountains. She looked at him, questioning him with her eyes. “It’s the two places I can call home. I drew the first view I had of Nightstar; the other is the last view I had of my original home.” “You drew them?”

“Which is that?” “Nova 2.0 seems to exponentially increase the loss of a werewolf’s humanity.” “What do you mean by that?” Dr. J seemed thoroughly uncomfortable and I felt the same even though we know what he was about to say. “Within a few months of taking Nova 2.0 consistently, those emotions and that humanity, are lost to the werewolves; permanently. Even if they stop taking the drug, they will never regain their ability to feel or to access their humanity.”

For the first time in centuries, Lucien regretted leaving before he had answers. A day had gone by since the incident at Wickery Bridge. Every time he closed his eyes, the images from that evening returned. The cold water, the weight of her body in his arms, her pulse, proof that she was still alive. She was human. And the last part showed the government building an dam on where their camp used to be.

People are dying and we need more masses to stop these things." he said, and I wondered how bad the damage was. Loss stepped forward, getting ready to offer his services.
