She fought to reach the surface gasping for air. "Mom. Soldier. Where are you?" she screamed. Through the splashing water she saw a shape. It was a metal suit, silver. It was shaped like a shark. Had long mechanical arms with claws. It had burst through the wall. Its eyes were glowing with the evil red light as the black ships from the sky. The mechanical shark did not swim slowly. It glided through the rising water like a ghost. One of its metal arms shot out. It grabbed the soldier around the waist.

A creature unlike any other lay behind us and I screamed right along with all the others. Half giant squid and half metallic robot from hell it rose up out of the water of the bay behind us as it firmly latched onto the ship in both a biological and metallic way. Alien looking arms plucked away at any human figure that was within reach, while metal arms of a matching order crumpled into the very hull of the ship with a force unimaginable.

I told them all, just before he emerged in front of us. Sharks were intimidating creatures, whether fully shifted, half shifted, or in their human skin. The one before us was half shifted. His skin was that dark bluish gray of a shark's. He had large muscles on his chest and arms, which he held crossed over his chest. He had human-like features on his face with large rows of sharp teeth like a shark's. He grinned at us all, trying to intimidate us with his not so pearly whites.

Hunter was roaring viciously and they had shifted back to their human forms. Happiness twinkled in her eyes upon seeing Hunter punching Armando ruthlessly as blood splurts out of his mouth.

The witches closed in, their laughter echoing like a chorus of nightmares. Something inside Aqua snapped. A surge of dark energy, unfamiliar and terrifying, welled up within her. She felt her pendant grow hot against her skin, the clear crystal turning black as smoke. The air around her crackled with raw power as she turned back towards the attackers, her fear morphing into a blinding rage.

The creature stepped through the fractured shard. Aria didn’t breathe. Its body was humanoid, but only in the way a shadow might mimic a person—long-limbed, bent in places no bone should bend, its form glitching between solidity and smoke. Its eyes—if they were eyes—were bright fractures in the dark, like pieces of broken glass reflecting her face back at her. Kael stepped forward, shadows boiling at his feet. Varuun simply watched, arms folded, as though the arrival of this horror was a mild inconvenience.
