I wasn’t expecting that, especially not so soon after sitting down.
For a moment, I didn’t know how to respond. I could feel the heat of embarrassment and shyness spreading across my face, and I instinctively looked away, trying to hide my blush. A small smile crept onto my lips despite my attempt to stay calm.
“Thank you,” I replied gently, my voice soft and slightly shy.
Jason’s smile widened just a little, and he nodded, as if he was satisfied with my response.
