I had to stop myself from touching my cheeks that were now turning red hot at the compliment. Never did I ever think I would be attractive to a man this handsome. So, to hear that, boosted my self-esteem big time. Even though I didn't need it, it still felt nice to hear it. Be still my beating heart. “Fake Compliments will not get you anywhere.” I tried to act unfazed.

Okay, ready or not, here goes. “Being uncomfortable, or should I say unaccustomed to compliments, is different from disliking them. I think I’ve gotten more compliments from you since we met than I have my entire twenty-four years on this Earth.” Nevi looked dumbfounded. “I find this hard to believe,” he stated with sincerity.

I don't know how to respond to them. I have no idea how to accept a compliment. So I do the one thing that comes natural. I ignore it, and move on. Before I get a chance to continue. Xavier pulls me flush against him. He leans down and kisses me on the lips. 'If this is how you respond to a compliment, I may enjoy receiving more of them.' I think to myself, trying to hide my smile.
