“You are rather pesky.” Hidi! I nearly fall over just hearing her lack of filter come now of all times. But before I can even begin to think up something new to address what she meant, I hear a laugh. Amul and his wives are chuckling softly. “No wall or valley will keep us Bulgeons out.” Amul goes, still smiling up at her as if it meant nothing that he was a foot shorter. His own confidence seemed to combat whatever Hidi was trying to do, as she thinned her lips just a little back at him. Almost scowling at him.

Helma slept in until noon the next day. When she woke up, Smiley was on the carpet, piecing together a puzzle. "Mommy!" Smiley's eyes popped wide open as the person on the bed stirred. Dropping the jigsaw puzzle, he scrambled to his feet, his tiny hands clawing at the bed's edge. "Up, up! Hungry, so hungry, food time!" Helma could not help but chuckle at his choppy little sentences. "You've been right here the whole time? You're such a good kid, my sweetie."
