Children ran and laughed on their way to the smaller carnival rides, festival lights beaming in a splendid frenzy.
Greyson pulled me between two tents and instantly, the warmth of his body melted against mine. My lips parted, wishing we were alone. “Mmhmm… you smell like wild strawberries, freshly picked. I could eat you all night,” he whispered into my ear and my cheeks flushed a deep scarlet.
He ran his mouth against my neck as he said, “I need to speak with some of the councilors, but enjoy yourself before we start tonight’s announcements. Shop, eat, drink… just don’t go too far. You know I can’t stand the thought of losing you again.”
