The woman stumbles once more, petrified, as tears begin to slip from her eyes.

He made a few punches and kicks but could fend off his every attack. The man didn’t expect Raven to touch him. He felt electricity, and he lost consciousness. “Axen?” Hunters couldn’t believe the man’s mask and a hoodie were removed. Axen from the island who helped them was the hooded man. “What is he doing in the tree?” Hugo asked. Cael sniffed the contents of the bag Axen was carrying. “What’s that, Cael?” Kyra asked. “I don’t know, but I can smell different kinds of plants in this powder,” said Cael.

He brought the blade up to his neck and watched the man’s eyes widen at the feeling of it digging into his skin. “No, please.” He pled and Max smirked wider. “Tell me what I want to know and I’ll let you live.” The wide-eyed hunter nodded slowly and Max brought his blade down, against his feral judgment. “There’s a tunnel that leads to another facility near the city, I don’t know how to get there, I swear, I’ve only heard stories of it.” He seemed to be telling the truth and Max nodded at Landon who tossed him to the side haphazardly.

Her green eyes widened in surprise and she froze, the steel blade in her hand wavering as she trembled. Then her scent hit me, vanilla and the secret places in a deep forest. Calming and exciting all at once and Morpheus whined in confusion. He stood up and took a step toward her. And she stood there, mesmerized. “She smelled,” I said when I realized I’d been quiet too long and Derrick was staring at me. “She smelled off.” “Off?” We’d been over this several times this week and Derrick still kept asking the same questions…questions that I couldn’t answer. “Did she smell like a hunter?”
