I walk up to Caroline with protective eyes and whisper in her ear, "If you hurt her, you deal with me. You'll understand when she talks with you." I meet her eyes and she nods lightly knowing that I'm serious. I head down with Kelly and Claire and we silently eat the breakfast Caroline made. To distract myself from having an attack of my own, I start cleaning the kitchen. Helping Jamie sleep last night brought me back to when I did it every night until I took four bullets for her.
