Its hallways were high-ceilinged with ruby red paneled walls and large gold-framed photos, adorned with crystal chandeliers and towering ceramic vases. They then led me to a room resembling an office for one person. Ikaros sat behind the desk, Lorelei lounged lazily on the chaise in the room, and I sat in front of Ikaros's desk with a man who seemed to be Ikaros's bodyguard. "She looked genuinely confused earlier," the bodyguard said, now sitting next to me. "Could it be that she really has no control over the wolf inside her?" "Shut up, Rutherford," Lorelei snapped. "I'm sure that was just her trickery, right, Darling?"

The great hall was Yvayn’s favorite room in the whole castle. Mother and son walked to a tall door on the right side of the hall. It opened into a long hallway. Mia took a candle from one of the tables as she walked by and held it in front of her. It lit their way down the hall that led eventually to a staircase that ran up to the bedrooms and the library. Silently they climbed the stairs to the second floor. At the end of another long hallway, there was a large oak door held in place by three big bronze hinges. We followed Mira around the big castle and she directed on the rules and regulations to follow. “And most importantly, the castle has three floors and the last floor is the Alpha’s wing. It is not accessible without orders” she finally finished, our guide coming to an end. It was evening by the time we were done and we followed Mira back into the dining hall for dinner before retiring to bed.

"Leave the evening meal inside for her. She'll eat when she's ready." Haela nodded and looked at me again. "Follow me." I followed. What else was there? The room was on the second floor, at the end of a corridor that bent once before reaching it. The corridor was lit by low sconces that made the stone walls amber and the shadows soft, and the door at the end was heavy and dark-grained, the kind of door that sounded like it meant something when it closed. Haela pushed it open and stepped aside.

One floor alone had been this impressive. What waited above? Cyrus returned to the living room and headed upstairs. The second floor was far more flamboyant. Sofas and recliners filled the central area, while clothes, underwear, and slippers lay scattered across the floor.

The fourth floor –which is where we were headed-- was used for staff offices, and it had a large conference room that was generally used for medical-related trainings and meetings. The hospital was fairly empty when we arrived. However, as we entered, we walked by a couple of younger she-wolves. I saw them lock eyes with Jenna, who seemed to tense a little, but she recovered quickly. I didn’t think too much of it. When we reached the bank of elevators, Jenna hesitated. “Do you want me to wait here?” she asked, gesturing towards a small seating area. I gave her a puzzled look. “Why would I want you to wait here?”

The castle is open for everyone because today is his eleventh birthday. "Hail!" the others called and waved. Hail smiled and waved back. He is sitting on the fountain, watching them all inside. Blue, Kulv, Mahi and Iero are running around, catching Blue who is flying away from them, laughing. "Hm?" Hail muttered when he noticed something inside the castle. I don't see Reyan... and Laggas. He thought and stood on the fountain to see a better view. Skye isn't there, either. He thought as he took a step. "Ah – " he muttered when he noticed that there was already water in front of him.

Her eyes were like two spikes made of ice. Then, I saw him—Harrison. He was standing at the end of the hall, staring at me. Staring at the cut on my arm. And even from where I stood, I could see his irises glowing bright green. A few minutes later, I found myself in a large, well-appointed room on the second floor of the castle. The air smelled like herbs and leather, and when Mason flicked on the lights, I gasped. It was an enormous circular library with a domed glass roof. Tables containing various alchemical implements and medical supplies were scattered about.
