Books filled the room, stretching from the floor to the ceiling, so my mate is a bookworm, I can live with that. Moving through the aisles, following the scent. I finally catch a glimpse of her, she is sitting at the very back at a small study table, fiddling with the headphones on her head. Her black hair was tied up on the top of her head with some tendrils of hair trying to escape, a deep green turtleneck covered her skin and she had pulled the sleeves down so they were stretched over her hands. A glimpse of her cheek showed her skin to have an off white colour, she looked ill.

I pee a lot, and smelling and seeing things that are sensitive to my body makes me puke. "Liam, just leave the poor girl alone." Sydney stepped in and pressed those breasts of hers on Liam's arm. "Come on. The book is a room. So we are going to have loads of fun." Loads of fun, indeed. "Just give me a minute," Liam brushed Sydney off, making her pout. "Lily, are you okay?" I scoffed.

I needed to cut her off. "Look, they're doing the walking around the fire thing." She said. I hummed non committal. "I read about it in this book by Drethi Anis. Five thousand nights of obsession. The book was so good." "You read?" I asked. I had never seen any book in her apartment or caught her with a book. "Yes." She blushed, then quietly. "Romance books." "You don't strike me as the romance type." I looked at her intently. "Is it one of those raunchy books with shirtless men carrying scabbards on the cover."

Her jet-black hair was elegantly styled in a loose bun, with tendrils framing her heart-shaped face. "Hello." She muttered softly. "I'm sorry I'm late." "It's... No problem." He said. "Uh... Please come in." As she walked past him into the suite, a sudden breeze carried the scent of roses to his nostrils, prompting him to inhale deeply and slowly exhale. Feeling a bit awkward, he closed the door and cleared his throat silently. While she inspected the suite, he took the opportunity to observe her. It was odd, but she seemed oddly familiar, and her voice resonated with a hint of recognition.

I thought she might’ve disappeared somewhere in shame after what happened, but I guess she’s just trying to clean up. I get ready to leave her to it, giving her space to get dressed, when something catches my eye. It’s a book lying on the sectional sofa. I pick it up, turning it over in my hands. It’s clearly a romance novel, one of those old-school kinds. The cover’s a little cheesy, showing a bride and a guy in a tuxedo. I flip it open, and right there on the first page, in messy handwriting, is a dedication. "Isayanna's Copy."

"This is her book?" He nodded. "I didn't know why it was here in the library. She carried it with her wherever she went. It was her grandmother's book. She gave it to Izza," Blaine said as I sat down next to him, and put a hand on his hand. He looked at me and gave me a small smile that didn't reach his eyes, and I felt my heart breaking for him. He always looked happy, but now there was nothing happy about his look. I opened the book, and Izza's name was written in a beautiful calligraphy in the front of the book. It is a story about a little girl who could control fire magic.
