I can’t forget about that night. “Are you okay?” He asked worriedly after I massaged my temple. I opened my eyes and looked at him. “I’m fine. Can we talk now?” I glanced at the girl beside Nicholas after she giggled. I stared at her. Even with aviators, I can see how familiar she is. “I’ll look after Nicholai. Go on and talk.” I nodded at the girl. “How old are you?” She was stunned but she answered. “Eighteen.”

MIA'S POV At age 10 After getting ready and dealing my daddy's slow driving,we finally reach the park. As soon as we pull up, I smell something delicious like peppermint and cinnamon. The smell is just so comforting I want to cuddle in it all day. As soon as the car stops, I open my car door and head for the playground. I can hear my parents shouting for me to slow down but I ignore them. I have to find the amazing smell.

I muttered, reminiscing the past. I closed my eyes and drifted back to that summer day when we were ten, running around in the backyard. Ian, my twin brother, had the ball at his feet, weaving through the grass, dodging invisible defenders. He laughed as he tried to get away from me and score a goal, and when he did, he screamed and made a declaration. “I’m going to be king,” ten-year-old Ian told me, bursting into laughter. “This is my dream, brother, and I’m going to achieve it!”

I hadn’t thought of it in years, but it was as vivid as if it were happening. I was ten years old, and I’d embarrassed my mother by refusing to let a stylist cut my hair. It was the princess thing. I believed that if it grew long enough I could escape my room high in the sky. The second floor wasn't that high, but it was to a ten-year-old.

My voice fell into a flat, broken whisper that sounded incredibly small in the dark bedroom. "My mother... is actively dying. And my little sister is only ten years old." I swallowed hard, the muscles in my throat tightening until it felt like I was choking on sand. "Ten." The mere number hurt. God, it hurt so much it felt like a physical blow to my ribs.

I was so much excited and happy like a small child who would go crazy over the candies that he loves. Yes! It was same handwriting. It was him. I couldn’t believe my eyes that I was given some notes to take of myself and that was by him. But before I could show my happiness I started to feel itchy all over my skin. I unknowingly started to itch my body like an ape. What the hell was going on? Something like this happened to me when I was ten and I had a fish. Did I ? Holy shit!

she asked, bringing her legs down. “Yes. Hana only recently turned ten. We’d planned to tell her when she turned twelve,” I shrugged. “At least you plan to tell her,” She frowned. I sighed and pulled her into me, her body adjusted to bring her legs up on the sofa and her head against my chest.

Malia tried to encourage. "Argh…" I felt a headache again. "Baby, run. I don't want to. Don't touch me!" I heard my mom's voice echoing through my head. "Argh… Mom!" I shouted. "Naomi, snap out of it!" Malia cautioned as I heard her voice faintly and my vision became blurred. "No! Don't touch her. Mommy!" The ten-year-old me screamed as I saw a man ripping off my mom's clothes but I couldn't see his face.
