“You think strength means never falling. But real strength is standing after you fall. Again and again.” His words dug under my skin. I wanted to laugh at them, but some part of me felt their weight. I clenched my jaw and said nothing. He passed me a bowl, steaming hot. The stew looked rough, but the smell made my chest tighten with hunger. I tried to hide how badly I wanted it. “Eat,” he said. I took it. The first spoon burned my tongue, but the warmth spread through me, heavy and grounding. I hated admitting it, but it was good. “Not terrible,” I muttered.

Ellie. I lowly growl and tightly hold my head to block away their voices. No matter what happens, no one is touching me I refuse to be part of their sick game. There is no visible skin on my body anymore. My claws have elongated and fur covers the whole of my body. The need to fight intensifies, and with another loud growl, I grab one of the guy's necks and instantly rip his head off. Great strength surges through my veins and I grab another one and another one until the floor is a blood mess of ruined flesh.

"If you're scared it's poisoned, it is not. We already ate it and if it's poisoned, we should be dead by now," My eyes went wide at her words and I clamped my lips together. To be honest, I was a bit scared that the food was poisoned but at the same time, I lacked the strength to eat. "I don't feel like eating," She nodded. "I get it. I understand. The first day I entered your father's pack, I couldn't eat as well and trust me, I'd seen worse than this but I soon realised that I needed to eat to gain strength to face the world and move on. Eat first, you'll fix your life later,"

They thought the chains they’d put on me would hold. I lowered myself to the ground, the stone biting into my skin, but I ignored it. Pain was nothing to me now. In the quiet, I could feel my body mending itself, each heartbeat stronger than the last, each breath filling me with a primal force that hadn’t been there before. Whatever they’d done to try and break me, it was having the opposite effect. I was growing stronger. Faster. And soon, I would make them pay.

My fingers trembled as I carefully inspected each piece, one by one, but my hunger gnawed at me relentlessly. Eventually, I gave up. It was exhausting, trying to analyze every morsel. My body needed sustenance, and the doctor’s remedy seemed to be working. I could feel the strength returning to my limbs. I hadn’t been able to heal properly before, but now, I could already feel the difference. I took a deep breath and began eating slowly, cautiously.

I hesitantly sat down and slowed the pace of my eating, My eyes still fixed on the clock. 'I'm going to be late', I groaned, with stuffed cheeks. “You’ll be fine,” Mom said, adding extra layers of pancake, and eggs to my plate. “Now eat up, or you’re going to be even more late for school. And please stop running down the stairs. One day, you’re going to break something.” “I know, I know,” Ivy groaned, I sat down and started stabbing at the food like they personally offended me. My dad looked at me, amused. “Rough morning already?”

The nurse says as she begins to leave then she softly closes the door behind her. Grabbing the cutlery, I dig in realising how hungry I was. Despite eating the porridge this morning, how was that only this morning? I was ravenous. Once I began, I was unable to stop the beans were burning my mouth but I didn’t care. The voice in my head was telling me I needed strength, the voice was getting stronger and sounding more violent with each word she said. After only 5 minutes, the meal was gone and the voice in my head sounded pleased that I ate. Almost as if the more I eat the stronger they get, maybe this is the key to getting my wolf free. I just had to eat a crap load.
