I Like To Read A Book Novels & Stories

I continued with a wide grin. "Gwen!” He called out in amusement. "I love spending time with you too but there must be something you love so much!” He insisted and I knew he didn't get my joke. I wasn't lying though but it wasn't entirely the truth. “Well, I have grown to love reading, thanks to you, you have made me develop a habit of reading! There is just this magical feeling, it feels like you have left your world and gotten lost in the book because it is too good! Reading feels like a portal to another world which I only have to read to be able to enter!” I explained with a smile. Think about a recent book I read that added pleasure to my life making it a little sweeter.

I have read half of the book just to get immersed in what Elva likes. “You read books?” Elva asks me. I sit on the bed and watch as she sits beside me. “I want to like what you like, read what you read, understand what you understand. Hell, I’ll worship the ground you walk on.” Elva stares at me in surprise. “I-I...” “Let’s just read.” I say quietly. We both rest against the headboard of my bed, engrossed in the book. Elva seems really interested in the book even though she has obviously read the book at least a dozen times.

In fact, the pile of my words can be categorised as rambling. Well, I loved reading newspapers, inspirational books, classics and most importantly, novels. Love stories are a key to my heart and a fuel to my imagination. I was teased by the name 'reading maniac' because I could literally read anything. All I need is a piece of writing. Though this habit is considered ‘boring’ by my friends, but I like it so, I do it and I have no regrets or problem in being called a ‘boring person’.

She rattled on about how she loves to read books especially love stories and how happy she’s to get a new friend who happens to share the same hobby with her. I don’t fancy love stories because I can easily predict what’s gonna happen next like who wouldn’t? Besides, it’s kind of boring to read the same plot repeatedly; boy meeting the girl, girl meeting the boy, starting from simple infatuation to attraction, then one of’em will confess, and BAM! They start dating and blah blah blah. It’s predictable. I’d rather read genres like adventure, action, crime, thriller, fantasy, etc., where things’re not much predictable plus you’ve to use your brain. At least you can learn something new. “Here w

He mumbles, “Who said I’m not interesting?” I sigh, realizing my own words. I’m not that interesting. I don’t have special interests; I don’t do anything outside of school aside from fiddling with computer parts. “Can you finish reading a book she likes before the weekend?” That wasn’t actually a bad idea, except- “She reads so many books. It would be impossible to identify which one is her favorite without asking her.”

But I found solace in the quiet corners of the library, where I could lose myself in novels and the endless sea of academic texts. I was always the quiet one, the girl who preferred the company of books over people. The library became my sanctuary, a place where I could escape the noise and chaos of campus life. It wasn’t that I disliked people; I just felt more comfortable in my own world, where stories came alive on the pages of my favorite books.
