I'll Wait Novels & Stories

I yelled. If I stayed any longer, I would certainly miss my flight. I didn't want to waste any more time here. I refused to play along with Bruno anymore!

As I watched their silhouettes lean subtly toward each other, I thought back to a memory of riding on the back of Ethan's bicycle. Back then, he had promised me that one day, I would sit in the passenger seat of the most luxurious car. Here we were. Not only was the passenger seat not mine, but the marriage he had promised me had been dragged out for seven years, and he still wanted to stall for another five. How many more 'five years' did I have to give him? How many more 'seven years'? My phone vibrated. It was a message from my mother. [Claire, the wedding invitations are ready. I'll mail some over to you. Let me know if you have friends who want to come.]

I love you. I had spent years of my life desperately waiting to hear those exact words. I had waited for them on those dark nights when the electricity was cut off in our tiny rented apartment. I had waited for them when my back was peeling from hauling heavy freight at the warehouse, in so much pain I couldn't straighten my spine. I had waited for them when I stared down at that slice of mango cake at the celebratory dinner. And I had even waited for them the exact moment that HR disciplinary notice was blasted out to the entire company.

”No Silas that is the information I got, I am still waiting for their reply” ” When you get the reply you call me immediately, I want to attend that meeting,” I tell him, there is no way I will miss it ”I will Silas”

Adam warned. I froze in place, unable to move. A full minute later, my clogged brain finally sputtered back to life. I drafted a resignation letter at top speed, cleared my desk, and marched straight into Ewan's office. "I'm sorry, Mr. Rivera. I admit I didn't graduate from Walden College. I lied about my credentials and deceived you. Lulu's surgery is in two days. "I can't do this job anymore, and I'm not shameless enough to continue. Thank you for your care this past month. I'll leave my resignation letter here."

“Bleiz, by the time you see this letter, I will have already left. As for where I went, I don’t know either, but you won’t find me. As for why I left, the reason is simple: I don’t want to wait anymore.” “I don’t understand. How much longer do I have to wait for you to take me away? Will you one day lie to me and say that I have to wait for your and Mona’s child to grow up, get married, and have children, or wait until you’ve grown old with her before you leave with me?” “Bleiz, my youth is also limited. I don’t want to continue waiting for you based on an empty promise that has no end in sight. Let’s say goodbye here. We will never meet again.”

“I’ll keep chasing you, until you realize that the person you love, is me. I’ll wait for as long as it takes.” Ivory felt a shiver run down her spine, a wave of emotions washed over her. She felt a lump gather in her throat and she fell speechless. She didn’t know how to respond, what to say. But one thing was clear, she was overwhelmed. Gadreel smiled, seeing the look in her eyes, hearing the words that she had yet to voice. He leaned forward, planting a soft kiss on her lips. He lingered, and then, whispered. “You don’t have to say it now, Ivory. I’ll wait, even if it takes forever.”

“I was so afraid that you would say no. But what you’ve said… it’s a thousand times better. It’s the most honest, courageous thing I’ve ever heard. You are not saying no. You’re just saying, 'not yet.'” He smiled, a gentle, genuine smile that reached his eyes. “I’ll wait,” he said, the words a solemn vow. “I’ll wait for as long as it takes. I will be here. I won’t push you. I won’t rush you. I’ll just be here, being a friend. A man who loves you. A man who is learning to be a better person. I’ll be here, loving you from a distance, and I’ll wait for the day you’re ready to let me in. When you’re ready, Isabelle. I’ll be here.”

Sahil said. " Seriously ?? " All I could say was that. I felt..... well again, I didn't know what I felt. " Hmm, trust me. " Sahil was grinning. " So, I must go and apologize for keeping her waiting. I will tell her everything about Maurvi." " No!! Just keep avoiding her. She will realise soon that she is as crazy about you as you care for her. " " But what if she has not had any lunch?? " " She is such a foodie like Samar... She would eat if she is hungry. "
