Jaylen whined. "There is no way your mother and I would put you in harm's way. It's what the Moon Goddess wants." Jaylen flared up at the last sentence. “Don't tell me it is the Moon Goddess want. I have been at the receiving end all my life. What did I ever do wrong? Why do I always have to be the one to bear all the burn. Why won't you and mom stand by me for once? I am just like every of your children, why won't you love me the same way and protect me? What did I do wrong?" The tears flowed freely and he couldn't stop it.

Why was she so mad? I felt a soft breeze behind me, enough to blow my hair in my face, making me turn around looking up to see the moon high in the sky, glowing brightly. Almost as if someone was giving me a sign. I blinked up at the bright glowing satellite a few times, was it my mom?

I want them to know that no matter what happens, they will always have each other and the love of their mother. As the moonlight dances across our home, I feel a sense of peace wash over me. I know that I am exactly where I am meant to be. The moon goddess has guided me to this moment, and I am forever grateful. I will continue to honor her by being the best mother I can be and by nurturing the love that surrounds us.

Continuation of flashback "Moon Goddess!!" I roar with all my strength, my voice echoing off the stone walls. "Please! Answer me!" I wait, hoping for a sign. If she doesn't answer, I’ll take my own life right here. I have nothing to live for. My mother is dead, and my father is a monster I am too weak to kill. The air in the room suddenly thins. A soft, iridescent light begins to glow, and the Moon Goddess appears before me. She looks like the moon itself. Ethereal, glowing, and terrifyingly beautiful.

The goddess, sensing her hesitation, offered a gentle smile. “But remember, only if you truly want to. You can live without a mate, and I’ll make it a little easier for you to control those urges,” the woman’s hand brushed against Myla’s cheek affectionately. A genuine smile tugged at Myla’s lips. “Thank you, Moon Goddess.” The goddess chuckled softly. “Please, think of me as your mother. Call me mom,” the goddess responded, a warmth in her tone that felt so maternal. “Thank you, Mom,” Myla said, finding the address surprisingly fitting. The connection she felt with the moon goddess was akin to that of a motherly figure.

I walked to Mommy's side. She didn't reach for me. She didn't touch my cheek. I pushed at her arm. Her hand fell off the edge of the bed and swung back and forth. Then it stopped. I couldn't feel her wolf anymore. I looked up at the nurse. “Is Mommy sleeping?” She picked me up. Her eyes were red. “Your Mommy went to the moon, sweetheart.” “Oh,” I said, nodding. “To sing for the Moon Goddess.”

Her soft gentle voice felt soothing on my skin, like a melody carried in the wind, her words caressed my body like lavender, instantly calming me. “mom?” I gasped in surprise. My feet lunged forward, padding on the cool earth, each step cushioned by soft grass. “Mom!” I screamed, falling into her arms, my eyes squeezed shut, “mom” I choked. “my sweet, sweet Daisy,” she cried. I felt alive in her arms, “how?” “the moon goddess,” she interjected, a frown formed on my face at the mention of the Selene the moon goddess. Her smile glowed in the garden, “don’t make that face,” she chided, her fingers gently poking my nose, causing me to giggle.

“So that way.” 16B was a much larger section than I expected. Still, it made sense since wolves were always passing down stories to the younger generations, true or not. “Found it,” I said. It took forty-five minutes but I found a book on the Moon Blessed that was not a kid's bedtime story. “When the Goddess becomes a man,” I read out the title. From the cover, I could tell it was still a fiction story for the most part. But it was better than nothing at all.

Lira's journal. I pulled it out, shaking. The cover was written with my mother's beautiful, flowing script. "My Beloved Moonbeam," it began. "If you are reading these lines, then the time has come. The bond has found you, and with it, the struggles that I knew. They will teach you that an Omega in heat must yield. They will say that your body is owned by no one but them.
