Noah's wolf said and Moon hauled up instantly turning his back to the lake, buckling up his gear, and running out of the woods only to be welcomed by Mother, Father, Ashton, Noah, James, and some others. Father's eyes had a strange look. Something I never saw. Mother was finding me an alien. Ashton, Noah, and James never moved from their spots. Mother approached Moon slowly, her eyes watering. She found Moon extraordinarily beautiful. I smiled, but how could Moon. He growled, this time warmly. Mother touched Moon's back and he gave in almost instantly. Mother's touch had been stuffed with love, care, warmth, and belongingness. Moon was home. I was home.

My eyes are locked on the glowing light. The silver glow thickens more and more until it looks almost solid. Like a pillar made of moonlight rising straight out of the earth. Then the shape begins to change. Slowly. Carefully. A form appears inside the light. Tall. Human. The glow fades just enough for details to start showing. Hair. Arms. A face. Dad inhales sharply beside me. The figure steps forward out of the moonlight. My heart stops. “Mama?” The woman standing beneath the Moon Tree looks exactly like her.

I spin around to the voice, to find someone that looked exactly like the woman in the portrait, my mother, her body transparent with a white glow around her. “What, what are you?” I stutter as her body becomes solid, her amber eyes, bright like my own. A smile spreads across her face, “Do you not recognise me dear child?” she reaches a hand out and cups my cheek, an odd sensation but as I go to grab it, my own hand falls right through. “I am your mother, the Moon Goddess sent me here as she knows you are in turmoil”. She drops her hand “He will survive Rudina, you have done all you can and now his body needs to rest”.

This is true, a little part of all the blessed ones and the moon will always be with me, my mom included. I am about to speak when she takes her hand and cups my cheek, I feel my heartbeat rising quickly, and my whole body feels like it's going to burst, I being moved at a high speed and I can barely see anything open my eyes after the quick pace and I am in an endless void, an infinite dimension, I am floating freely in the huge vast space, I turn and right in front of me is our creator, The Moon.

Black gems encrusted the moon, making it beautiful in an eerie kind of way. “It’s so pretty,” Aisling murmured; the gems caught the light that crept through the window. As soon as I touched the moon, it was like my hands had a mind of their own. I picked up the moon and pushed it into the indention on the book. A distinct click emanated from the book. I pressed two fingers to the moon and turned it counterclockwise until the latch on the book was removable. “Brigid! Aisling!” I heard Papa calling from downstairs, but I couldn’t stop.

The moonlight was coming in through the window and making the room lighter. For some reason in that moment her mind went to Quinn. He’d always called her “his moon” because of her eyes. He’d once told her he’d never met another person with grey/silver eyes like hers. He told her they reminded him of the moon the way they shone. He also said that that’s what she was to him.. the Moon… because she was his light in the dark. Her mind came back to the present. Whatever was blocking the light from outside was coming into focus. She followed it up .. higher and higher until she reached the top of the object.
