I mumbled and started heading back into the house, Mike ran behind. “Wait, wait, are you visiting our rival company? What happened to the rule that said never to step a foot in our rival company?” Mike reminded and I stopped on my track, folding my hand in a fist. Damn! Yeah, I was the one who made the rules…well, I can break it. What the hell was I thinking when I made those rules anyways?? I cleared my throat and turned to him with an eye roll “There’s also another one that says, keep your enemy closer,” I whispered with a dry but scornful grin.

I stick by the rules. ‘The rule book rules? Or your own?’ ‘The rule book rules. I don’t make my own.’ ‘Not for Scrabble, maybe.’ The smile was suddenly gone, and something else had taken its place. Something far more lethal than smiles. ‘I’m not so sure about other little games.’

I asked. “Yes, rules, ” he replied, ” Rule #1, don’t flirt with other guys. Rule #2 don’t irritate me. Rule #3 you don’t leave unless you ask me for permission. Rule #4 if you disrespect me there will be consequences. And last but not least, Rule #5. Do what I tell you to do. “What kind of rules are those?” I frowned. “Those are the rules you’re gonna follow,” he replied. “But those rules are stupid,” I argued, “Last time I checked I was a free woman.”

I hate being touched by someone I don’t know. Second is I can do anything with myself. It means I have my own freedom and the last rule is don’t fall in love with me. I won’t be able to love anyone again.” I don’t even know why I made the last rule but there was an urge from my heart to make it.
