I Need A Job Novels & Stories

I’d literary settle for a thumbs up emoji at this point. I have to stop pestering him though because I have plans for today. Big ass plans. I am going to look for a job at the food joint called Butterfly Palace near the beach. I don’t really need the job but I need. . .something to keep me busy. I think I look professional enough for what I’m about to do which I know I’ll be significantly judged for, but I have to do this for me. I know I don’t need a job but I need some sort of independence.

“I think I want to look for a job.” He paused, his coffee mug halfway to his lips. “A job? Why? We have more than enough. You don’t need to work.” “I want to,” I said, emphasizing the word. “I want to do something. Be around people. Contribute. Have a purpose that isn’t just… being here.”

this is the one thing I have to do right. I take a few deep breaths and return to the room. I open my laptop and search for more jobs. I can't give up. In a few months, I'll need to stay home, so I need a safety net early on. I'll need money. Lots of it. I find a few that capture my attention, but what really grabs my attention is an email I receive from Katie.

God! How will anyone get experience if you would just refuse to hire them for someone more 'experienced'. Plus those dreams! Arghh! I just don't know what to do with my life anymore.
