Cooking has always been a way for me to relax and clear my mind, and it helped me forget about my fever for a while. After breakfast, I went back to my reading, this time picking out a book on history. It was a book about the rise and fall of empires, and I found myself engrossed in the stories of ancient civilizations. The more I read, the more I realized how much we can learn from history and how it can shape our future.

Dim candle lights were the only source of light which were illuminating the old room . I coughed a little as some dust went into my nostril. I heard the door closed behind my back and looked back immediately. There I was,standing right at the middle of nowhere ,waiting for someone to visit whom I don't know of. I started to move around the place and look at the books . Some of the books were so heavy and old and there were moulds in them. A mixture of old rotten paper and moulded cheese smell was coming out from them as I tried to open some of those heavy books . They were written in strange language as I tried to read one of them . Didn't know what was that all about and I gave up already.

Ava’s POV The books felt older than time itself, dust rose in tiny clouds as I cracked open the first book, coughing quietly into the back of my arm. My fingers traced faded ink, words in an ancient script I could barely follow. Pages of lineage records, names of Alphas long dead, descriptions of battles that were nothing but stories now. I skimmed through line after line, desperate for anything that whispered of bonds or gifts. “This one’s useless,” I muttered under my breath, shutting the book harder than I meant to.

The librarian, a wise old man with spectacles perched on his nose, had greeted them warmly and invited them to explore the dusty shelves filled with ancient tomes. As Scarlett's fingers grazed the spines of the books, a particular leather-bound volume caught her eye. Its title, "The Prophecy of the Shifting Stars," called to her with an inexplicable pull. She plucked it from the shelf and dusted off its cover, revealing faded golden letters etched into the leather. Curiosity burned within Scarlett. She opened the book and began to read aloud, her voice barely above a whisper. The words flowed like poetry from her lips, resonating deeply within her soul.

He finished the sentence on behalf of me. "Absolutelyyy!!!" I muttered under my breath. "By the way, Reil I have a piece of good news for you." He grinned like he achieved something the first time in his life. "I found one book from the old buildings which can feed us with more information we need. I'm giving this to you." He handed me a dusty book that looked like the book was written over a century ago. "Did you go through the books?" I asked. "No...and it's not my duty." He wiggled his eyebrows playfully.

I walked toward the shelves, lazily running my fingers across the spines of the books as I scanned the titles. History of Blood Clans. Treaties of the Northern Territories. Ancient Magical Structures. Boring. Boring. Also boring. Who actually reads this stuff for fun? I kept moving along the shelves until one particular book caught my attention. It looked older than the others, the cover worn and faded like it had been opened a thousand times before. Curious, I pulled it out. The moment the book left the shelf, something clicked behind the wall. I froze. “…Okay.”

I glanced at the faded covers again, my fingers brushing over the strange symbols carved into them. Something about these books felt ancient, mysterious and dangerous.

It’s a book. I cautiously look around before picking it up, my eyes widening at the sight of its age-old cover. With a gentle hand, I brush away a thin layer of dust to reveal the time-worn engravings on the letters. Carefully, I open up the book and scan through its contents taking in every detail. It's from an era that has long passed us by.

(Salvatore's POV) It’s been days since I tasted a drop of fresh blood. I locked myself in my room, so I could read the ancient book I came across by accident in peace. The flickering candlelight casts eerie shadows on the ancient parchment, making the cryptic script dance across the paper. I lean closer, the musty scent of old paper filling my nostrils as I frantically try to decipher the hidden meaning within the pages. “Could this be?” I murmur, my hand shaking slightly as I trace a finger along a passage of text.

It made me falter, a brow raised at him. “What?” “You look like you are in your element.” “Huh?” “The other rooms we have been to did not spark that glow on your face that you have right now. You love books, eh?” He watched as I moved to another bookshelf on the opposite side of the door, picking one book up before returning to his side with it. It made his mouth twitch. “They were all I had for a long time….” I ran a hand over the old cover, almost torn at the edges, resisting the urge to smell the pages. The smell of old books always fascinated me and left me yearning for more.
