I thought that you preferred to buy books from the bookstore or whenever," the man said. He looked down at them with disgust. "Besides, who reads in this time and age?"

It was like searching for a needle in a haystack, and with every passing minute, the urgency only grew. But then, as I was about to give up for the night, something caught my eye—a small, weathered book tucked away on the bottom shelf. I opened one somewhere near the middle before handing it back to him. "Read something to me," I said quietly.

The future isn’t set in stone; I remind myself, as I gently close the book, the sound of the pages rustling filling the quiet room. Carefully, I place it back on the shelf, its worn spine aligning with the others. My eyes wander to the collection of books before me, their aged covers displaying faded depictions of ancient myths and legends. I can almost smell the musty scent of ancient knowledge emanating from their pages. Doubt had initially clouded my mind, but as I delved deeper, I discovered fragments of truth, hidden amidst the tales of gods and goddesses.

"I've never seen anything like it." I walked around the library, running my fingers along the spines of the books. They were old, some of them looking like they had been hand-bound centuries ago. "Let me see" I murmured, pulling one of the books off one of the lower shelves. The book was heavy in my hands, the leather cover worn smooth with age. I flipped it open, the pages crackling as I turned them. "This is ancient," I said, my eyes scanning the faded text. "I can barely read it."

It was about old magic of kings, queens and demons and somehow, I had a feeling that I ought to read that book. I didn't know what drew me in but soon, I found myself reading the book.
