Astrid rolled her eyes at us before leaving the room, we all burst out laughing. “Well, this is my first Ball” I say as a nervous excitement settles in my stomach. Emily's POV “The ball starts in two hours, ma'am.” Freda said through a creak in the door. She's the new assistant I just got. “A ball?” I asked, surprised. “Yes.” Freda replied, opening the door slightly to reveal her face. “It's a ball, a masked one. “She added. “I email-ed you the details last night.” “Guilty.” I said in an undertone. I sucked at checking my mails. Not even four years in college, nor three years working for marketing agencies and growth firms changed me.

Kaleb The ballroom in the palace is crowded but so quiet I can hear the echo of my footsteps. I didn’t bother to bathe, let alone change into something more appropriate for this occasion. My shirt is dust-stained red and wilted from a day spent in the sun, in the sparring ring, where I beat my tension into submission until I couldn’t so much as lift my arms anymore.

I cleared my throat to get her attention. “What do you want?” She hissed at me. “I want you and your people to come to the Ball,” I declared to her. She laughed at me like I just said the most ridiculous thing she has ever heard. “Do we look like we care about your ball right now!” She asked, looking at me like I was dumb.

Come on, I can do this! Taking a deep breath, I stepped into the ballroom graciously. People are looking at me as I walked into the ballroom. I head to the bar, grabbing a glass of champagne with me. The men in this room are eyeing me as if I’m their prey. I mentally roll my eyes at it.

Her name was Anna Leo. I looked at them. They were looking down upon me. I still kept dancing, I didn't pay attention to them. But when they were going, Anna stuck her foot in mine. So I threw on my shorts and T-shirt, called Mira again, and told her to bring me a ball. “There’s no ball in the house, ma’am,” she said, surprised. “Then buy one,” I ordered. When she finally came back with a ball, I was excited — except I had no idea what to actually do with it.

So I was feeling extra bored today and decided to write to you about my very boring day.
