Although the person's face was blurry, his physique was evident. “Did you dump me?” She asked her voice above whispers. Arthur was now confused. “What?” “I just had a memory flash and I saw myself crying and it seemed as if I was dumped, rejected or betrayed,” she explained. “A memory flash? What does that mean?” Arthur asked. “It means when I remember something from the past. Sometimes it comes with a sharp pain while sometimes it doesn't,” she explained and he nodded. He got up and walked to his closet, picking out something and got back to his seat. Khloe watched him curiously.

“Now we’re here, a full day later.” I can’t even move my head to nod. I don’t know what to say or do. I just sit there staring into space. I’m slowly realizing that those flashbacks are exactly that: flashbacks. Not a figment of my imagination, not something that my hurt brain just made up to deal with the pain. Third pov Flashback. At that crucial moment when Alaric lost his balance, he thought about the saying that when a person is about to die, their life flashes before their eyes. He had heard that in moments of shock, time would slow down and memories would flicker by— that the brain would rapidly retrieve emotionally charged or core moments as a kind of survival mechanism, replaying a person’s past up to that point. He always thought that was ridiculous. He never believed in it.

I want her to just see me. Not only that, but I didn't know if it was because of the adrenaline coursing through my veins, but those thoughts kept emerging in my mind, followed by images of me rushing somewhere. I shook my head, wondering if I was confusing reality with my imagination because of my thoughts, but I remembered that I had the same….flashbacks when Elena was shot. But I can't remember going through something like that; it felt like the person in those images was not me but someone else.

The sound of his voice was sweet music to my ears, a gentle melody heard soothing my beating heart. "By the way, do you recall that bizarre instance at the hospital... the one that almost stopped you from seeing your ex?" I spoke rather slowly, clearly drawing out the words to consider the relationship to the current moment. I had pictured that moment almost instantaneously in my mind like a wild flashback. I imagined a stranger appear from nowhere into confusion and shady memory with the breath and view of the hospital. The split-second image into my mind was still quite vivid: confusion and ambiguity flourished, forcing me to find sense for the bizarre coincidence."
