A figure rose to the sky and shouted, which made Earth warriors spit blood. As he spoke, he arrived before the battlefield. "Greetings, Elder Ancestor!" All of the people of the Immortals knelt. This was an elder with a haggard and ugly appearance. He looked like a dried corpse, yet the aura he emanated caused the others' divine souls to tremble. He was an Empyrean Immortal. He was even more terrifying than the Fifth Fiend Supremacy and the Third Blood Supremacy. No one expected such an old monster to appear.

Gigantic bones littered the ground, and a ribcage lay half-buried the way the Statue of Liberty did in Planet of the Apes. As we traveled over the huge structure, I tried to convince myself it was the skeleton of a whale. But deep down, in the pit of my soul, I knew. I knew that it had once been a supernatural creature, and that no creature swimming in the sea would earn itself a place in Hell. “You’re no fun,” said the imp. “Sorry for not giving you job satisfaction,” I said. “Maybe you’d feel a bit better if you spared a thought for us poor bastards who are here to suffer.”

“Do you see? This is why this is much more important! They’re literally training apes to fight against us. On our own core planet! Do you honestly believe some stupid ape duelist is more important than this?” Murmurs floated around the Drogar, but Colviss answered with slight exasperation. It was as though the old man didn’t know a real threat when he saw it. “Not just any stupid ape,” she replied. “But a Reborn ape. Heavily equipped and highly trained in old Drogar ways. Don’t you find that interesting?”

Aiden leaned back and thought for a long time, brows furrowed. “Why do you ask?” Caitlin finally asked, becoming concerned herself by his expression. “I think there may be another force at play here,” Aiden finally said. “What do you mean?” Caitlin asked. Aiden sighed. “There is a prophecy that, when the last vampire on earth surfaces, the Immortalists would die.” “Immortalists?” Caleb asked. Aiden nodded. “An ancient race of legend, a race destined to live precisely two thousand years old. Not quite immortal—a misnomer, if you will. But they have the ability to be immortal, to extend their lifetimes forever. They need the last vampire to continue living….”

In just an instant, all life within the sea was extinguished. The Ancestora had attained the power of a true immortal upon escaping his confinement, despite only ascending just moments ago. True immortals, beings of pure solar energy that were born from the void, could peer into the river of time and use the rules of heaven and earth to fortify themselves. Even a mere drop of their blood could remain undestroyed for epochs. Their slightest emotions could cause the heavens and earth to shift hues and induce a myriad of visions.

Getting away from the perverted prince is even more difficult than killing cockroaches in his house; he might be a tardigrade, an animal that is said to be almost immortal. "So, back to our discussion. Think of something else, maybe trying something more interesting." There's no way Jefferson can get rid of him. "You should take it. That's a good offer, think about it. I'll never offer that again. This is your only chance." But Jefferson did not want to give up just like that; they said it was almost immortal, meaning there was still a chance for Jefferson to get rid of it. "Well, I think it's not that worth it. You will still have your clothes on when you sit on my lap, right?"

Hale explains. I cast a sideways glance at him. “Oh, so it has a name?” Adria leans out of the shack, eyeing me keenly. Her dark hair is wound up in numerous braids, a cloak draped over her shoulders, covered in a pattern of bright gold, accenting the black. “You are mortal…This has never happened before,” she marvels. Her lifespan likely far rivals mine, and yet this is the first time she has come across a mortal in immortal lands. That is a terrible sign.
